    ^This.

Here's an article from 2018 where a Japanese team outline the technology.

Once again Apple is taking someone else's idea, changing it just enough then patenting it like they invented it.

theninja35 reacted to BlueChinchillaEatingDorito in Canadian tech reseller Geep caught "reusing" recycled iPhones
Is this recycler affiliated with Apple's trade in program or something? According to the comments section in the original article, some people seem to suggest they were. If so, I have no sympathy for Geep. They had a contract with Apple to recycle these devices and yet they decided to violate that just to make a quick buck (well the executives did, and quite a large quick buck for that matter).

theninja35 reacted to Kilrah in Canadian tech reseller Geep caught "reusing" recycled iPhones
As mentioned, Apple pay the recyclers to effectively make sure the devices don't end up on the used market and in competition with new ones. Regardless of how questionable that is, Apple was scammed of what they paid for.

    I respectfully disagree.

I do think their computing products have been disappointing, the rest of their products and services on a whole have been pretty strong.

As for the stupid fan base, you have checked out this forum your posting in right, because every company seems to have the same stupid fan base, and they are getting more and more toxic as time goes on.

To be fair, when I use thermal paste I end up with like half a tube left and then I lose it before it's time to reapply...so I don't know if I'd really end up buying more than I do, just from the perspective of an average consumer who likes computers.

i can see how this makes sense for MOST people. the "wasting" paste would only affect a very small number of people. the majority of people would apply paste once and then never touch it again.

theninja35 reacted to zeusthemoose in Scrapyard Wars 7 Formula
I just messed around in Google Sheets a bit and I think I figured it out.
The number score is basically the percentage of the maximum score of the machines. Each section has a maximum of 100 for a maximum of 300 over 3 sections. The maximum score is set to be the highest score in that section and the others are the percentage of that number. For example, the cinebench scores. Linus got 668 and Luke got 299. So Linus got 100 for that and Luke got 44.76 because 668 was the highest score and 299 is 44.76% of 668.
They did that to all three sections and added them together to get a total final score. They then divided that by the price to get the score per price.

This means that you cannot use the formula for your computer because it determines price to performance relative to other computers and not for a single machine.

With all due respect, if you're serious, I don't think the forums are the place to ask for a partnership or a job. I'm sure it's wonderful that you'd like to join their team, but there are right ways and there are wrong ways. You should probably first establish yourself in the tech industry and build a resume, and maybe actively participate on the forums.

Anyway, @LinusTech, I'm looking to be your personal chauffeur hmu. Pink Lambos only.

I don't disagree with you. It still takes effort to social engineer someone in order to do something of this scale. It's not trivial, otherwise it would have happened before. We don't know how he got caught so at this point you're creating conclusions from data that doesn't exist in the public eye. (How he got caught) And do I really think NSA should hire him? No, of course not, it's a joke.

Anyway, the Viper is a real killer. Even the new ones with all the fancy safety stuff is still pretty brutal to drive. I've driven a Scat Pack Charger and I can't imagine a Mustang is much harder to drive, so it just comes down to people who don't know how to drive the Mustang.
