CTR640 reacted to Jet_ski in Sapphire podcast explains how the pandemic affect GPU supply
I don’t think the 30 Series was as great of an upgrade as Nvidia hyped it to be for gamers. If games and the OS support direct Nvme access for the GPU, you’d get a lot of performance boost there for games that are out there. It’s competitive edge is price.
There is plenty of supply if you are willing to purchase an overpriced prebuilt with $300-$700 markup above component prices.
Funny how system integrators and miners can always find inventory.

CTR640 reacted to vsteel in Major hedge fund advises Intel to outsource CPU manufacturing
The problem would be to outsource to where? There isn't that kind of capacity to come online for Intel. Fabs are very expensive which is why they are run pretty much maxed out all of the time. If you have a fab at 50% capacity you either are losing money hand over fist or you are selling the parts you are making for a lot more than they cost to make to cover the idle capacity.
Intel I think can come back but they got very political internally and read too much of their PR posts. They never thought anyone would catch them. They were so busy flexing in the mirror admiring how big they were they didn't lift and ignored the guy in the corner pumping iron like crazy. Now they are internally trying to lay blame and catch up.
They might be able to outsource a little of the capacity but their best bet is to license the technology but I bet they also would need to upgrade their fab tooling. Figure 12 weeks to 1 year lead time depending on which tool you need. You then need to set up the recipes and learn to use the tools and develop the processes. It all takes a lot of time.

The cryptocurrency market has to die. From a logical and rational point of view it makes no sense whatsoever to convert electricity into an online currency. It literally has zero purpose. No I don't care that it helps you dodge taxations or that you are able to make an income from this. Electricity usage is already high enough in the world, we don't need morons running graphics cards day and night for nothing more than just money making reasons. I doubt Americans are able to understand my argument or care too much about environmental consequences but I can definitely see the EU stepping in one day and regulating this because it literally defies logic from a humanity perspective.

CTR640 got a reaction from PlayStation 2 in Cyberpunk 2077 Removed from the PlayStation Store (and Microsoft's Also Offering Refunds for It, Too!)
Some people never ever learn, eh? Why did some got overhyped for this crap? Just because they made The Witcher games doesn't automatically mean Cyberbug 2077 is a great game too.
And how old is the PS4 and X1? From 2012? CDPR should have KNOWN those shitty consoles won't be able to run this game.
Life lessons:
- never ever pre-order!
- never ever get overhyped because that usually leads to massive disappointments!

CDPR really fucked it up this time, even two major stores in the Netherlands are warning buyers for bugs!
It's the first time ever this happening

CTR640 reacted to TetraSky in CDPR admit they have no special deal in place with retailers for Cyberpunk refunds
Another reason not to buy games digitally on consoles.
Sony's refund policy is essentially this : "if you've downloaded it, you can go fuck yourself".
They don't even give you two hours or whatever else like we see on PC. Just the act of downloading it makes you ineligible to a refund.
That said, I had also interpreted their original message as them having deals in place to get a refund and to contact them if you ran into any issues.
