Have you talked since this incident? You could reach out and ask if he wants to talk about anything? It seems that he could use a friend and in his drunken state reached out. Don't press the issue if he doesn't want to talk but make it clear that you're always available if he does.

In general I'd suggest making efforts to communicate and hangout more with him. I'd try to make a regular weekly thing when you do something together. I wouldn't force it by outright saying 'let's do such and such together every week', but more casually by asking 'hey I'm planning on doing such and such, you want to join'.

De-ionised is just as good, if not better than distilled water in terms of purity due to the process of how its made. It's often made from distilled water in the first place. It's not really a compromise.

@scobie56 You can flush the radiator with regular tap water, then give it a final flush with the de-ionised water

scobie56 reacted to W-L in Cleaning out new radiator
You can use regular tap water to rinse and clean out the rad but for the final few rinses you want to ideally use distilled water if you have it available. Deionized will also work if that's all you have available.

If it says to not use in one brands Aluminum radiators, I would suggest expanding to all Aluminum radiators to be safe.

scobie56 got a reaction from Technomancer__ in What Are Cuda Cores
a cuda core is just a core on say a cpu, Nvidia calls there cores cuda cores and amd called them stream processors
so a 1080 will have 2560 cuda cores, meaning it has 2560 cores. thats a really basic example
but don't get cpu and GPU cores mixed up

Seeing as how 1.2v is taking it really safe @ 4.2 GHz and most heavy overclockers (on water) go around 1.35v, I say anything between 1.27v-1.3v if you want to push past 4.5 GHz

The Smax is probably the better choice. The Audi is a ticking time bomb of expense, it's more complicated than the Ford and the parts are more expensive, neither have a great reputation for reliability. Flip side the Audi will depreciate more slowly.

I'd have to go with the Ford. Wouldn't the Audi be a real bitch to maneuver around narrow UK streets?
Audi's are usually pretty reliable. I imagine the diesel variants are only more so.

Quick note, yes i know the power supply isn't the best im getting a new one soon

so to start this build off i bought a z97 motherboard about a year ago on sale and never got round to using it. i was thinking about building a new gaming pc since  my old one was a little under powered. i then found that someone was selling a "dead" gaming pc. he said he bought a cheap power supply and it blew up on him. for £50 it was just the motherboard, cpu, and ram, he took the hdds, ssd, gpu and case. after testing i found that the CPU worked fine (4690k) and one of the 2 sticks of hyper x fury ram worked. but the motherboard was toast. i then used my old case, power supply, drives, and bought a second stick of hyper x fury and a gtx 1070 for this build.
    Specs
    CPU: 4690K
    GPU:1070 gigabyte ITX
    RAM:Hyper x fury 2x4gb
    Case: Corsair 330r
PSU:CX600m (soon to be an EVGA PSU)
    Motherboard: Gigabyte z97x gaming 7
OS: Windows 10 + dual boot OSX

like he said, check every thing works fine. stress the CPU, Ram, GPU etc. and if you can I would play a game like gta for abit just to see if its 100% stable when the system load is constantly changing

Yeah, a combo of stress tests and real world load would be best, especially if you offer an overclocking service. You could always ask the client what games they want you to test, so you can put it through it's paces and see how much performance they'll get from it.
