Benji_w got a reaction from Ruckledge in What are the chances of an AIO springing a leak?
Hope you're using AMD software to monitor the temps as the way they're measured on the APU range is a bit weird. Also how likely is a AIO to leak? I dunno, it's pretty rare, like the most popular hottest girl you know asking you out, not impossible but probably not going to happen...

Clearly your rig is not silent because silent means no sound at all.
what you have is at best a "quiet build" because your water loop is drawing so much power that its fan needs to run.

as for my air cooling rig, there is no sound at all because my fans arent spinning unless under load, even when it is, my fan runs only at 500 rpm.

So how is your custome loop silent if it requires your psu fan to spin up because it is drawing so much power?

That would be silent indeed because you cannot hear it, thus, silence. Just like that voice in your heard formally known as a brain.

Ah sorry do forgive me, you see I went from air cooling an overclocked FX 8350 at 4.8ghz which sounded like a turbine test rig to a silent watercooled rig at 5ghz, my i5 is also delidded, bare die 4.7ghz with a 970 overclocked to 1600mhz+ on the core and 8000mhz vram, as I'm sure you're aware, overclocking means more voltage which in turn creates more heat.

Removing the heat from my components is key to keeping them alive but because I value my sanity and my hearing, I've decided to believe science over the delusions of ignorance and go with watercooling. When my PC is underload aka gaming or stress testing then my EVGA 750w G2 which remains in ECO mode so the fan is not spinning.... starts to spin it is the only thing I can hear coming from my rig. Everything else, is silent. Also my temps are amazing even with 1.5v on the i5 I don't even thermal throttle, so when I have it at a tame voltage I barely exceed 60c and my GPU never hits 55c, the idle temps, even better so much so that the entire rig is silent.

Benji_w got a reaction from Technous285 in Flow reversal
Actually there is an issue, the block only flows one way and eventually your temps will go up and up and up until thermal shut down. Swap them around like they're supposed to be. EK tells you to plumb the flow in a certain way for a reason and their R&D have spent a lot of money on telling you how to do it correctly. 53c is way too hot for a watercooled loop, my gf ran her loop for 12 hours with her pump off because I hadn't plugged the pump cable back in after transporting it between homes.

You've spent loads of money on watercooling, do it properly or let all that pressure and heat build up and see what happens...

    That's because it's true...

its a much safer option for noobs who dont know the difference between the numbers 12 and 13 since there is 0 chance of a mess up

He should be fine, both of them are different no matter which way you look at it. Plumb them in and do some testing, ideally with soft tubing first.

Benji_w reacted to reptileexperts in BCLK overclocking
Never a good idea to overclock on a stock cooler especially if you live in a warm environment, will just add to the heat.

BCKL overclocking can be hard to pin down, because as you raise the multiplier from 100, it will effect most of the other components in your system which may or may not handle overclocking well. This includes your PCI-E lanes and Memory. I would always recommend increasing in increments of .25 at most each time, stress it for a little while, then increase again. Using XTU makes it quick, but it also uses resources so in benching it is a better idea to find your clock stability point in XTU, then hard wire it into your bios. You should definitely do more research into the topic before attempting though.
