Couldn't help but splash on a Mi 10 Ultra. Bit pricey for my liking, but at least they're bringing something to the table unlike most asking for more money.

Not particularly huge on the whole curved screen thing, though the hole punch camera is far less obnoxious than I thought it'd be.

When the dates keep moving further away for opening stuff up, that's the definition of indefinite. At the beginning it was 5 weeks, then two months; I'm into month 3 now. You expect everyone is going to wait until there's a solid treatment or a vaccine? Like, wait a year or more? What's a responsible amount of time? Millions are not yet getting their unemployment because the systems are being over-extended, and the $1200 those people may have gotten as stimulus won't be keeping them fed and a roof over their heads for long. What do you expect them to do? If your life is cushy enough you can sit back at your desk for a year and armchair quarterback everyone else's needs, go for it; Millions of people are not that lucky.

My old headphones recently started to tear my ears up, and despite my usual efforts, nothing seemed to solve the problem. They were on-ear headphones (marshall monitors), but honestly, quite comfortable at first. But in the last month or so, they started tearing away at my ears, no amount of adjustments were doing anything and some new pads didn't help either so I just decided to get some AKG K92's to tide me over to a planned upgrade (probably some Beyer DT1770s)

Pretty decent headphones for the price in all honesty, though sound wise, it almost feels as if something is missing sometimes, and I just can't put my finger on what it is.

TheMcSame got a reaction from TechyBen in (Edit: announce Feb11th) Phone wars : the rise of Samsung Galaxy - New Flagship Leaks
Because people would rather have a dedicated jack than a dongle that stops you from charging your phone while being used or having to use wireless headphones, which are yet another thing to charge? Plenty of headphones are still being manufactured with a 3.5mm jack, it might be outdated, but it's not exactly an obsolete connector and yet phone manufacturers have decided to remove them for no real reason.

It ain't hard to understand why people still complain about it.

Tbf, just because you don't like one it doesn't mean you don't like the other. In this case it does, but personally I'm fine with notches. Hole punches though? Get that damn bs outta here.

Got sick of LED lights kicking the bucket after about 6 months so I decided to jump back to CFLs. Hopefully they're as reliable as the last lot of CFLs I used which, afaik, are no longer produced

Pretty sure it's just the sensor, the Hero uses Logi's Hero sensor.
I mean... I'm not even sure how you'd review a mouse. It's a mouse. Idk... It's comfortable to use and the buttons have a nice feel? The only real gripe I have is that I feel like there's too much resistance to the scroll wheel when it's not spinning freely. Obviously, when it's spinning freely it's far too loose for regular use, but it's not really intended for regular use anyway.

TheMcSame got a reaction from Synedisis in What to do when RMA is lost during shipping
Had an experience with an RMAed phone getting lost a few months back, the retailer looked into the issue and sent out a replacement for me without fuss.

Generally the manufacturer or seller tends to foot the bill for shipping, at least in my experience. If they provide shipping, insurance is also down to them. Likewise, should something go missing, it is their issue as the contract for delivery of the goods is between them and the courier service.

If you're footing the bill for shipping, the same applies. If the item is lost, it is your problem. For expensive goods, I'd 100% get the full works. Insurance, tracking and signed delivery. For very expensive items, a tracker might not be a bad idea.

Caffeine commonly found in soda actually increases stomach acid production, so that's not entirely accurate.

TheMcSame got a reaction from Origami Cactus in Inevitable nationwide ban on vaping
The current state regarding vapes is that, when buying legitimate products, it's far safer than smoking.

In regards to cancer, as of this point, there's little evidence showing that vaping using legitimate, off the shelf products is harmful. You'll find the vast majority of harm caused by vaping is down to unregulated mods (usually lack safety features that prevent shorting and over discharging of batteries which leads to catastrophic failure), bootleg liquids (bootleg THC pods being the most recent occurrence) and poor battery care (I.E people keeping bare batteries in their pockets with other metal objects like keys, causing the batteries to short again, causing a catastrophic failure)

There have been cases of some off the shelf liquids causing a condition known as popcorn lung, this was down to the use of diacetyl in some liquids. These days, manufacturers do not use diacetyl.

As far as cancer risk goes though, it simply hasn't been long enough to tell. Vaping has been around for a while but not truly long enough to fully understand what, if any long term effects it has on your health. Current research claims that vaping is about 95% safer and nicotine itself is known to be a relatively harmless substance, no more harmful than caffeine.

TheMcSame reacted to Notional in Tesla Hit With a $2 Billion Lawsuit for Allegedly Stealing Nikola's Hydrogen Truck Design
At least show a picture of the Tesla with side mirrors:

    Similar design includes:
Narrow wedge shaped front with pertruding wheel arches. Wedge shaped side windows, like on a sports car. Wide side mirrors in skinny poles connect the exact same place on the truck. I gotta say, the design is VERY similar. To the point where you would have to know the specific differences to tell them apart on the road.
