  1. I shipped two changes to the forum this evening, which will hopefully be small changes that make the experience better.

     

    First is that there's now a template when you create a new topic in Tech News, to hopefully encourage higher quality posts there.

     

    Second is that activity streams that are set to Content Items Only will now only show the item itself, sorted by start date, so that activity streams can be used as an extended Recent Topics feed. I've created a feed for that, https://linustechtips.com/main/discover/466/, and set it as the default default. You can customise that stream (eg filtering by forum), then save it and use the ✓ button to set that stream as your personal default (or if you were already using streams, you can set another one back as your default).

     

    Feedback on both are welcome.

      maybe change the wording on "use of this template is optional"? could be interpreted as "elements fulfilling the guidelines is optional"

       

      probably something like

      " use of this specific form is optional, so long as all the necessary elements are present "
