$58 bucks 250gb - 860 evo - https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA12K6U83608&ignorebbr=1

$80 bucks 500gb - 860 evo - https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820147674&ignorebbr=1

I'd suggest the 500gb version because, well it's really cheap and it's better than 120gb or 240gb

Hey there, I need some help. So I've had my friend's laptop for a bit trying to fix it for him. He broke the OS, and it is nowhere near functional. I need to install Windows 10 back on. I have tried to install a lot and it does say that his hard disk is about to fail and Windows can't be installed, but I don't care. I need a working computer. Anyway, when I try to install all kinds of errors pop up. Can someone help me with this? Thanks.

if windows is refusing to install and you are getting a TON of errors... the drive is failing or dead.. you need to replace it... no way around it here.

And actually he uses a HDD so I think that would be good anyway. He doesn't use that much space either, so it's perfect.

Just make sure the sata interface is the same, one drive I got had the smaller of the two and wasn't compatible with a standard sata from a desktop PSU
