HDD has 6647 damaged sectors and 163 unstable sectors

Hello everyone!

I don't know what happened to my hdd. I went to work and left a disk defragmenter running on my desktop computer.

Back from work, my PC was ULTRA slow so I decided to format.The formatting process was painful and I got a message during the Windows installation menu saying my HD could failure any time.

I did a HD Tune Pro 5.70 test and it says: "The drive has 6481 damaged sectors and 144 unstable sectors. (It keep updating every 5 min and showing different numbers).

 

Any way to fix my old HD ?

Get a new hdd, you really can't fix this.

I hope my hdd last until black friday, but the number of damaged sectors keep increasing... Now is 7137.

It means my HDD will die at any time, right ? A critical failure maybe...

yea its gonna die.

 

You got backups? If you don't buy a hdd now, don't wait.
