will my cpu be good for an 8600k and 1070ti iCX?

mxk

I have a SeaSonic M12II 620w 80+ bronze and was wondering, will this be sufficient for higher overclocks on the 8600k? I just wanted to know if this means I need to get a new power supply or not.

it has enough wattage for some good overclocks. But I would consider getting a new psu, as this one uses an old design and is becouse of that tier 4.

No, M12II 620W is group regulated garbage without decent protection.

If Cooler Master would do something like that, they'd be bashed to smithereens.

If Corsair would have something like that still in their lineup they'd be bashed too.

Its really not good...

I've seen the list and where my power supply is on it. I'll probably use it as reference to pick the new one.

Yeah, I would suggest tier 3+ for any budget

Look at the bright side, you'll never make that mistake again for the rest of your life

At least that's how i justify decisions that cost me a lot of money ?

Condolences...

Really sad that this thing is still sold, especially for that Price...

Well, there are still people recommending it...

Why exactly are these ancient units still being manufactured and sold brand new when they have been refreshed/replaced years ago? It does bother me as well.

Same thing happens with CPU coolers, the Hyper 212 Evo was replaced by the 212X that has a remarkable better fan and slightly altered heatsink, it costs the same as the Evo but because of youtube videos always mentioning EVO EVO EVO every one keeps buying the old variant.

The thing is, they didn't get refreshed or replaced by anything. S12II and M12II is still in Seasonic's budget product stack and nothing replaced it. A budget DC-DC line was teased by Seasonic since a few years, but it never released.

The savings are so minimal though... A TX550M is hardly any more expensive majority of the time, the own Seasonic Focus Gold also is hardly that more expensive, like what? 15 bucks?

It gets to a point I can't understand why the manufacturers even offer these products for marginally the same price but stripped down to the bones.

Like AMD A320 chipset motherboards, none of them makes sense as it's a Terrible product for usually 10 to 15 dollars cheaper at most.

People unaware wanting to save up will always end up with headaches later for not knowing what's true 'best value' in the segment rather than the cheapest.

Because its not replaced, they could do it, if they wanted to. And there is something announced that should arrive in autum - 3 years ago but never hit the market...

And there was also an old S12 design with DC-DC. You might remember the True Power New.

It happens everywhere.

Just look at Skylake-X right now. Or the Pentium 4 in the Past as well as Fermi...
