Ryzen 2600 only showing 4 cores on Windows

[Hi Guys Hope your well :)]

Hi guys , I have recently upgraded ram - Corsair Lpx 16GB , Motherboard Msi x370 gaming plus 

and a Ryzen 2600. I have downloaded all the drivers for this and I come to my Msconfig where you change the number of cores you have and it says I only have 4 cores instead of 6? Also in Cpu z it says I have 2 cores and 4 threads ? Is this normal or Do I have to do something to Change this as I want maximum performance ! Please help

Go into your BIOS and see if you have any cores disabled in there.

Wasn’t there a 1300X or something that somehow had 8 functioning cores?

Did you reinstall Windows after upgrade?  Or use the same install?

I had windows installed already on my ssD . I switched From my old motherboard and cpu . I havnt reinstalled windows . Could you explain how u would do that . Thanks bud

Hi it says 6 cores but I can’t find any other setting that allows me to enable cores but the main problem is windows think I might need to reinstall . But it doesn’t show my cores on CPU z either so I’m not sure

Some things you could try: loosen your cooler a bit, check your bios, check ryzen master if you didn't check already

@Hi Guys Hope your well :)  You may want to remove all the old devices in device manager.  Open device manager and under view select show hidden devices.  Go and remove all the grayed out devices that were from your previous mobo/cpu.  You can probably safely remove all the grayed out devices and any actually still used will simply re-install themselves.  I'm not sure if this will help, but it is worth trying before going through re-installing Windows.  Though re-installing Windows does cure a lot of ails.  Also, have you installed all the drivers from AMD/your board manufacturer?

Thank you so much. I've been having a 3 core 6 thread issue... but after doing this, after restart I had all 12 threads. So deleting devices can help, especially if you change cpus

I had the same problem. Run msconfig with Win+R. Go too Boot > Advanced options and untick the Number of processors option. Thats what fixed it for me
