Followed by the "Wow I need to buy the OS for a $100!?"

Then "Let's start with the 'best budget GPU' and 'best budget CPU' that actually fits what I think is my budget."

Realizing my budget is a lot less, I work my way to "I think these new games will run on a cheap ass CPU."

Then end with "The new parts launching next year is probably gonna be better and faster for the same price so I'll just buy next year."

But have you tried the SoundCloud Go version? I think in the US they had a the SoundCloud Go version that you could download some songs and play them like Spotify Premium.

If not just stick to leaving youtube open or back to ripping CDs.

The main reason you pay for Premium is to get rid of the ads and play music while offline.  The need for Premium to play on connected devices was a holdover from an era when gadgets like smart speakers were seen as rare extras.  It's just another platform -- your ability to play music shouldn't by limited by whether or not a device has a screen.

 

I never quite get the notion that giving free users more features is a bad thing.  It's not an exclusive club where you're trying to exclude as many people as you can.

Very much so agreed. Giving something extra to free users is in no way "screwing" anyone. 

 

Spotify might lose money if less people are premium as a result and/or they might decide to increase the price of premium in the hopes that users who stay on premium will happily pay more while more people who weren't using Spotify at all are now compelled to switch to free Spotify. But regardless, no one is getting "screwed" by any reasonable definition.

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

It's great that Apple products have this built-in as Airplay and have for some time. With Bluetooth A2DP that my speaker and car have I can't tell the difference anyway. Glad I made the move to Apple Music a while ago.

Why is this a problem, more free features is not a bad thing for consumers. If premium is no longer worth it for you then move to the free version, it’s a win for you.

Having issues with a Corsair AIO? Possible fix here:

Are you getting weird fan behavior, speed fluctuations, and/or other issues with Link?

Are you running AIDA64, HWinfo, CAM, or HWmonitor? (ASUS suite & other monitoring software often have the same issue.)

Corsair Link has problems with some monitoring software so you may have to change some settings to get them to work smoothly.

-For AIDA64: First make sure you have the newest update installed, then, go to Preferences>Stability and make sure the "Corsair Link sensor support" box is checked and make sure the "Asetek LC sensor support" box is UNchecked.

-For HWinfo: manually disable all monitoring of the AIO sensors/components.

-For others: Disable any monitoring of Corsair AIO sensors.

That should fix the fan issue for some Corsair AIOs (H80i GT/v2, H110i GTX/H115i, H100i GTX and others made by Asetek). The problem is bad coding in Link that fights for AIO control with other programs. You can test if this worked by setting the fan speed in Link to 100%, if it doesn't fluctuate you are set and can change the curve to whatever. If that doesn't work or you're still having other issues then you probably still have a monitoring software interfering with the AIO/Link communications, find what it is and disable it.

That's a little extreme. Screws over Premium users? How? Are they losing features? Oh, right, they're not. A feature they had is just becoming available to the masses.

It's not even like the free users are getting unlimited access or offline downloads; things that people likely pay to have. It's just a wireless access option.

I'm sorry, but I fail to see how Premium users are getting screwed over. 

 

Oh, so Free users now get the ability to stream their library to any WiFi enabled device in their house which enables Spotify Connect? Good for them. As a Premium user, I use Connect often, but it has never been a key reason on why I subscribed in the first place. 

 

The key reason why a lot of us Premium users even subscribed in the first place is to be able to listen to music without ads alongside the ability to stream at a higher (though not lossless) quality and the ability to store music on the device for offline use. We can confidently say Premium users are getting screwed over if Free users can listen without ads, but that isn't the case.

Honestly this doesn't bother me, this feature doesn't feel like it should pay gated anyways. Though I only pay for spotify student, I dont think it's worth full price with or without this

I still can't use this free feature on my Google Home, because Developers need to implement the free connect feature in their software first.

Kinda crazy that this might make you happy.

 

I for one am happy about this change. I don't use any of the premium Features, but connect was indeed a consideration, just did not want to shell out a full premium for a feature i may use once every month or so. Also: I am always happy to see people get good stuff for cheap / free. My life does not get worse, just because others are happy.

 

Seriously, you should consider overthinking that attitude.

The few times I used spotify I simply used in a web browser and had adblock on. That being said it was hard to find the web browsers version at the time.
