New Build - 2000€ Budget

Luisa

Hello, I am looking to make a brand new build starting next month, since my PC is 3 years old and I got the money to purchase new parts.

1. Budget & Location

2000€ - Europe (Portugal) I can lookup prices on https://www.kuantokusta.pt/ , purchase from https://www.amazon.es/, https://www.amazon.co.uk/, https://www.pccomponentes.com/, https://www.globaldata.pt/

2. Aim

Mostly editing software, I'm a freelancer artist so I use Manga Studio, Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator, etc. I also render some stuff with Sony Vegas.

But I also want to be able to play some games once a while, such as Witcher 3, Civilization, Minecraft, New Upcoming Borderlands!

3. Monitors

Already got a 1440p monitor but aiming on purchasing another one.

4. Peripherals

Don't need any.

5. Why are you upgrading?

Because my PC is oooold!

Thank you!

something i'd look at then is something around the lines of these specs:
amd ryzen 7 2700x (8 cores and 16 threads, perfect for rendering because of its amazing multicore potential, also plenty for gaming)

32gb ddr4 3200mhz

x470 motherboard

nvidia gtx 1080ti videocard, the new 20 series really isn't worth it especially not for 1080p/1440p gaming

a corsair rm750x powersupply should be more than you need
for a case, thats personal preference but i'd go with the nzxt h500(i) or h700(i)

as for storage i'd go with a 512gb m.2 nvme ssd as a boot drive
and a seagate barracude 2tb hard drive for bulk storage.

Current build: Ryzen 7 1700x, asus prime x370-pro, 16gb gskill trident z rgb, asus rog strix gtx 1070 ti, corsair rm650x, nzxt s340 elite, samsung 840 pro 256gb, 1.5tb hdd.

What would be the best GTX 1080ti brand atm? There's such a difference between prices.

That would depend on the price difference. An RTX 2070 might not cost that much more than a GTX 1080. Same goes for the RTX 2080 vs 1080 ti. The 1080 ti is also end of life so stock is getting less and less by the day.

true, but if you can a 1080ti for a reasonable price it makes sense to go with that

Depends i little on what cooler you get, ou wanna try and match the fans aight :D

im in love with the Corsair ML series (which are also included with the AIO i suggested).

I lean towards the 140mm fans since they need less RPM to move the same amount of air which makes teh system quieter

Another question!
Should I raise a bit on my budget and go for the threadripper 1920x?

THe downside is that only a few motherboards are compatible with it.

Anyone?

Can you make use of that many cpu cores ?

The X399 boards are in short supply at the moment as Manufacturers are changing up the VRM design to be able to cope with the 250W TDP TR4 cpu's. The 1920X is 180W TDP so it would be ok with current boards.

Why not buy from pcdiga? They ship to all of Portugal (including Madeira and Azores) and are pretty good.

This should be good if you don't want TR4 (about 2085€ total with VAT. Shipping to continental portugal should be completely free and to Madeira/Azores 35-62€):

You would need an X399 chipset TR4 board for the 1920X. They are in pretty short supply at the minute though, as are a lot of TR4 coolers.
