Thank you guys for doing this. If anyone is interested in the F@H community here. We have a thread dedicated to folders and also post when we are running events like we are now.

Here is the thread for our current Folding Month 2018 event:

Here is the community board:

And thank you to @jakkuh_t and the rest of the LMG team for bringing awareness to this!

Please keep discussions civil and respectful. Aggressive, condescending and patronizing tone won't be tolerated.

I just got going, but it's going to be pretty bad with my hardware. ?

My Setup -

Gigabyte GA-P55M-UD2

NVIDIA GeForce GTS 450

Intel Core i5 750

1TB Hitachi HDD

In other words, in need of an upgrade...

I'm here to talk to y'all about Cancer, Alzheimer's, Huntington's disease, Parkinson's. They're are all terrible diseases that have had an affect on nearly everyone in one way or another, and we want to help. Researching these conditions in an attempt to cure them is an incredibly expensive endeavor, but for many people, donating to fund these causes isn't an option. Thankfully, there is still something we all can do: Folding @ Home

Hmm... Sounds great, but...

Set your username to same as your forum handle, the team number to 223518, and a passkey can be generated here: https://apps.foldingathome.org/getpasskey

That makes me a bit sad as my FAH handle has been something else for a super long time even for the team, but okay. :(

I've added my humble system to the mix! Yes, i'm running an i7 8086k with a 2GB 1050... I needed processor power so I used my old video card.

Which cost more, the PC or the BJDs?

I'm curious.

Is there a way to run this folding software on consoles?

I own a PS4 and WiiU (newer ones that would actually help) and honestly 99% of the time they're just collecting dust since I'm on my PC mostly.

Anyway to utilize that hardware?

we have been doing this in new zealand for about a year now but with phones. the idea is you leave an app open over night as your phone is charging and they use the processing power to help cancer research.\

Good Ol DreamLabs app, great way to use my S9+'s CPU while I Sleep and help people at the same time. ?

back when i had money, I think i spent a fair bit more on my first Dollfie Daughter than on my current rig. Why do you think they have their own case?

Is there any way to get the folding using more resources? I set it to full power, and it seems to not be using very much of my system's resources at all even when away from it

We've been doing that over here in England too.

Sorry I don't have the internet cap for folding if the usage is the same as mining or smaller. But awesome project and giveaway.
