Night theme as default

Almost everyone uses night theme (even Linus IIRC) so why isn't it the default?

It's down to personal preference, while we like the night theme, there are people who prefer the day theme for various reasons.

I guess having a message asking you which theme you want when you first log in can be an option (theoretically), but I don't know if that's possible with the current tools or if it's viewed as a gimmick and it's now worth the time and effort required to make it work.

I think Night Theme fits the overall material design of LMG better than the Day theme. I vote in favor.

I will be honest, it always makes me wonder why isn't Dark theme the default not only here on LTT but across the board, it is by all means superior since it's less exhaustive to the eyes, has prettier aesthetics and so on.

 

Blinding white is soo early 2000's deal, it's just out of habit every one still defaults to it, I think more places should start shifting from this dying standard and start enforcing a new one with dark themes like Steam did themselves.

The dark theme is definitely nicer from a user standpoint.

 

In white, it's sometimes hard for me to read the orange Linus Tech Tips elements such as the reply button, so dark theme is my way. The dark theme also makes the text boxes a lot more clear as to where the text box begins and ends, at least to me.

 

I use Twitter in both modes but favor the light mode, because I'm often there for ten minutes at a time and can distinguish the light Twitter elements such as the blue accents better there. It's different here on the forum because generally you're on the forum for extended periods of time and are looking at buttons and boxes an awful lot.

I heard the mods like @Crunchy Dragon and @Ryan_Vickers are banning day theme users
