Audio cuts out under load

Hey guys, so I've noticed that any audio playing seems to cut out when my processor is under load. I had a song playing on YouTube and loaded up discord and while the loading splash screen was there, the audio cut out for a few seconds. I also noticed that happening during load screen in WoW. I tried re installing the audio drivers but that didn't seem to help. I'm running an 8700k, Aorus z370 gaming 5, 2x samsung evo 850s and a gtx 1080. I don't see any big spikes in cpu activity or hd usage when I load up discord. Any advice appreciated. 

 

I just realized it only happens when launching discord and occasionally during WoW loading. I just ran aida64 while playing music and it was fine.

Just to clarify, are you using your onboard audio, an additional interface, or audio via video connector?

Do any of your displays have built in speakers?

 

Best thing to do would be test to see if running audio through HDMI to your display results in the same issue.
