Gigabyte is a combination of things Asus and EVGA didn't do as well. Worse customer service than EVGA, arguably worse PCB and looks than the Asus.

I mean just about every custom 1080ti will hit around the same speeds overclocked as it's really down to silicon lottery the only deciding factor is cooling (so watercooled or a beefy cooler) Otherwise the kingpin cards are pre binned so they will overclock the best but, they're pricey and good luck finding any.

So all the customs are the same;

I mean they have different pcb designs and coolers (hince the custom) So they have better power delivery than a stock Nvidia board but, silicon quality is the primary deciding factor in what a gpu will hit similar to a cpu and motherboard.

I know multiple people with that card who have never had an issue with it, all of EVGAs products are generally solid they did have a slip up in the initial launch of the 10xx series but, can't think of another time they've messed up

 Αsus Astrix or ftw 1080 ti to buy;

Personally I would go for the evga card because I care more about customer support. They all preform about the anyways so trying to get solid card is most important to me. Both cards are solid so the better customer support pushes the evga ahead for me.

Some cards are cheaper due to the cooler, whilst having the same PCB as a more expensive card.

For example:

MSI armor , it has a shit cooler, its not good enough for the 1080ti, it was designed for the 1070 iirc. BUT has the PCB of the Gaming X.

So if you were going to water cool the card, its best to get the Armor and save like £50.

Now of your going to rely in the air cooler, then any of the major brands mid - high end version are fine. They will all peform roughly the same, within the variability of silicon lottery.

I'd say based on reviews, the Aurous extreme and Gaming X have the better air coolers. Though the FTW3 and Strix are no slouches ether
