Building for freshman gamer, any suggestions?

I am building this PC for my friend who is huge into gaming and is wanting to transfer from xbox. He has 2k but can probably go a little beyond if needed. If there is anything that you would reccomend for this build before I send him the list I would be grateful, Thanks in advance!

He mainly plays overwatch, this build may be a bit over powered and I totally understand that but I am wanting to make sure that he can take advantage of the 144hz on max settings 24/7

is it necessary to keep all the RGB and Asus parts?

Is that monitor good? I thought that 1080p would be the best bang for buck in making a consistent 144hz on ultra settings. Also there needs to be a mouse and the keyboard will most likely be razers new version of the blackwidow chroma. also will an air cooler really be able to keep up? arent the water coolers a much safer option?

water coolers are not safe.  One F up and your motherboard's probably dead, unless you're an expert idiot like Linus who knows how to dry water from motherboards.

has freesync support and a samsung VA panel, customers on amazon and such say they're pretty happy with it.

it's not that scary, 99% of good AIOs go bad because of water evapouring away over time, others because the pump failed. Leakage is very rare on more reasonably priced models.

AIOs will add more failure points and if it leaks it can kill some components. air coolers are just a chunk of metal with a couple fans so they're safer and more reliable.
