Thoughts about this case for my upcoming build?

Imo nzxt makes good cases. If you like the design, take it. If you don't, then don't. 

 

Not sure but cxm psu might not be the best choice and the wd SSDs are shit, get a 970 evo 250gb instead. It's dead cheap for what it is.

Refer to this list for PSU tiers. 

 

 

Other than that the H500i is a great case! My brother went from a DIY case to a h500 (non RGB) NZXT case and dropped his thermals significantly. Despite it's close front panel, it still allows air to travel and flow through your case.

I'm an elitist so I would only go with Tier 1 PSUs from this list

 

 

System looks good to me, except the 2 points mentioned.

No need for a PCIE ssd, go 860 evo in 256 or even 512 if you want.

It's true, it's doesnt make a difference in real world situation but I just love the added simplicity of the drive. No cable clutter, literally no space taken up and super fast if you ever need it. 

If you wanna safe some money though, you can go with sata3 SSDs no problem. But I still wouldn't really go with wd but Samsung.

I agree with your reasoning, I advocate a M.2 860 EVO for simplicity and money savings.  M.2 and Sata prices are the same now for the 860.

 

Also, I would step down one off the Gaming 7.  Gaming 5 max or even the Ultra Gaming.
