Windows won't install in good HDD

So I borrowed an IDE HDD from a friend because I was running out of space and he didn't need it.

Few months ago I reinstalled windows with that drive plugged in. Now it has taken over the boot sector and I'm unable to boot without it. And it is kind of a broken drive.

My main HDD has all the partitions as Simple Partions (olive colour), and maybe that is why I'm unable to install windows in it.

I only solution I see is that I've to wipe out entire partions and data (diskpart)

 

Am I right?

The easy way to do this is to do a reinstall. There are some ways to move the boot partition over, but it depends on legacy vs uefi boot and isn't that simple.

Remove the IDE drive and do a fresh, clean install of Windows using the Windows Media Creation Tool.

Told you, I tried. It simply won't.

I've backed up my data and ready.

Should I continue?

If I had the chance, here is what I would try.  I'm thinking you already did this so.....  Remove the IDE drive (no one uses them now days anyway).  Double check the regular drive is the boot drive.  Make sure that boot type is UEFI, then try the Windows tool.
