Buy THIS Instead - RTX 2070 Review

It’s been almost a month after Nvidia dropped RTX… In more ways than one. Today, the least expensive RTX-capable cards are out. Did they learn from their mistakes?

Buy an ASUS Turbo RTX 2070:

When you just summed the video down to a 5 second read. :D

Still going to watch though, love watching the high pitched man himself

I'm getting mixed messages.  TechLinked made it pretty clear by the title that this card has no reason to exist, and now this video says to buy it.  ??

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

The trend was set with the 2080ti and 2080, confirmed with the 2070.

That trend being that Nvidia has launched a new series that is, near as makes no difference, a 1 level jump in performance for each teir of card with roughly a $/£100 premium.

As such, it is pritty much always a better idea to buy a 10 series card instead. Nvidia has not done what it usualy does, which is decrease the price of older series cards and have the new series take their place in regards to price.

Why?

Lack of competition, and surplus of 10 series cards. if/when the 10 series cards run out, the prices 'may' change, though i wouldnt be surprised if nvidia takes this opotunity to set a new standard price for cards. It is down to AMD to undercut them at all performance levels if we the consumers want fair prices to return.

I'm personally hoping that AMD used their time wisely to release the Navi cards at a decent price. Without any competition I am betting this will be worse off in the future.

Also what were the songs used in the background?

Who needs fancy graphics and high resolutions when you can get a 60 FPS frame rate on iGPUs?

Haha, LTT got stuck with Asus!  ?  Other outlets got MSI or EVGA cards, which have decent coolers for the $500 price tier.

The real question is, who's the poor sap who has to open this can of diet coke?

Also how is 7 FPS a big jump? Let alone 5FPS on the 97th...

I'm also thinking LMG is now owned by ASUS... Because...

Furthermore if 3rd parties are not going to be making (much) money off of each card trying to find a 2070 will be near impossible because they won't produce too many to limit potential loss, therefore Nvidia is unlikely to do such a practice as it would hurt their bottom line too, few chip orders, lower profits.

I think LTT might have forgotten to add the in-video link to their video comparing the performance of a brand-new and a very used video card:

Cool, man. It looks like it still isn't there on my end, though.

But if I can get a new reference 2070 for the same price as OC 1080, then should I go for the 2070 or still for 1080?
