Interestingly, If you get a video to load, it will play fine... even if the websight goes back down, it will keep loading and playing...

It's not a story Vimeo would tell you. Darth Google was a Dark Lord of the Internet, so powerful and wise he could use the Servers to influence YouTube to demonetize videos... He had such a knowledge of the Dark side he could save stale memes from dying. The Dark side of the Internet is a gateway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural. He became so powerful the only thing he was afraid of was being DDoSed, which eventually, of course, he was. Unfortunately he taught his apprentice everything he knew, then his apprentice killed him in his sleep. Ironic. He could save others from being hacked but not himself.

more strange: with tor it worked (did not checked where the exit node was). without tor nothing.

If tor takes you through another users computer it kind of makes sense. Different ISP, different country possibly, different YouTube server. Just our local server is down.

Somebody tripped over a power cable didn't they?

Looks like the popular video streaming site is down.

For the life of me I can't recall the last time this happened.

Weird thing is some reports indicate it's global in nature.

Site just went back up about 2 to 3 minutes ago.
