gaming Gaming/Streaming PC questions! Super excited!

Hey, I'm nearing my buying phase, and I'd like some of your help with questions.

I'm in the U.S. with a budget of about 1700 dollars. My aim is to be a famous streamer (lul) and enjoy my games to the fullest.

First, how's my RAM situation? I've encountered a lot of stuff about speeds and types that seem pretty complicated. I think I made the right decision, but I'd like your input. 

Second, I'd like to get a high-end PC with a 1080ti like the list shows, but my build feels unbalanced. My CPU and GPU are $$$ but my other parts are $ to $$. Even though everything seems legit and like it'll work well, I want to know if I'm not seeing something right?

Third, I don't want to upgrade my PC anytime soon, hence the 1080ti, but do you think it'd be better to buy a 1080 and save some moolah (For webcam/greenscreen... maybe fans if I need more)? I play at 1080p now (OVERKILL I KNOW) but I'm planning on going to 1440p with multiple monitors once I can afford it. 

I'll pay attention to new CPUs from Intel, but none are wowing me as of now. Speaking of CPUs, I feel safe with Intel, but do you think Ryzen would be a better choice for gaming/streaming? I feel like it's pretty even. 

Finally, how should I handle my storage? I'm getting a new SSD which I'll put Windows onto, and am leaning towards starting fresh with my 2 TB HDD... Bummer since I have over 1tb installed, but first world problems, amirite? Anyway, if I do start fresh, can I just format the drives, and how should I do that? Format them, unplug them, install them into new PC?

I play at 144Hz with no intention of dropping to 60Hz or going crazy with 240Hz, I have all my needed peripherals (They're corsair which I think will be dope to pair with my ram in the case.)

Wait for reviews on the 9700k first, get a BP5e slim 7 instead of the wd blue SSD.the 1080ti is overkill for 1080p but keep it since you plan on going multi-monitor 1440p.

@Wolfgang393 Blue Yeti is a terrible investment only if you don't want a huge mic in front of your face all of the time. Which for me at least when I watch a video with someone with a Blue Yeti in front of the camera it covers up a large chunk of the camera and is immediately unappealing.

 

If you do not want to have the mic in front of your face/mouth you will have to turn the gain up. From my experience anything that's not the lowest gain possible hears everything. Even if you are on a 100th floor 5 star hotel with noise canceling walls. You will still hear the person in the basement floor taking a piss. Highly over exaggerated statement in the previous sentence. However, second floor to first floor background noise with doors closed can still hear people on the first floor doing general tasks.

 

I have to use Adobe Audition to pass the audio through to Audition first to filter background noise in real-time which of course uses a lot of CPU processing power. 30% usage on a 5930k. However, this allows me to place my mic on top of my monitor with the gain up and no background noise and very little keyboard noise is captured.

 

Therefore, if you are comfortable with a headset, just stick with it. Here's my take on a headset. Obviously it's mic is not as good as a Blue Yeti; therefore it won't capture background noise as much but since you're putting it right in front of your mouth it pretty much nullifies that weakness. However, if you turn the gain all the way down on a Blue Yeti and sticking it in front of your mouth then there's no reason to get a Blue Yeti over a Headset with a mic.

So the 9700k is out... The results don't look too different, but I didn't know how to read a lot of it... What I took away was that the 8700k is 6c/12t and the 9700k is 8c/8t and they both work very similarly 

 

Which one looks better for streaming and gaming, though, because I'm sure I got something wrong?
