What Annoyed You Today?

In similar fashion to “what song are you listening to”, I thought I’d start this thread in the hopes of being able to let off some steam in a more private environment, and laugh at each other expense. It all works out in the wash, right? Obviously make sure you stick to the forum rules and regulations, I don’t want to get anyone banned.

 

So I guess I’ll start:

I work in a restaurant, and I had my phone sitting on the microwave charging. Someone came to use the microwave and upon opening it, yanked my phone off flying onto the ground, and, naturally, the case broke. Thankfully no phone damage. But I just bought this case earlier this summer. So... $30 wasted. Joy

Well my sister make cookie dough yesterday and she still won't let me have any of it. That and her constant screaming is really getting on my nerves.

The copy of Fahrenheit 451 that I borrowed from the library and read today, was messed up. As in, the book was printed in a messed up way, with sentences cut here and there. The first 150 or so pages were fine, but then, on the last 20 or so pages, it was messed up. It's like noone proofread the book before printing it.

Trying to configure adblocking on my router with OpenWRT. (Since it's easier than DD-WRT, on which I've tried the startup/firewall scripts, those didn't work for shit, didn't block anything and these days they give some new sort of way through a USB flash drive and command lines and what not... ugh, I just want an easy to use interface ffs, is that so much to ask, why is that still not a built-in feature damn it)

But it just doesn't want to block all the domains on the hosts files that I select, it only blocks maybe 10k domains, out of over 80k. Tried both "adblock" and "simple-adblock", both do similar result... Posted on adblock thread of the OpenWRT forum, didn't get a single answer yet.

I'm starting to want to invest in a pi-hole, but it feels like such a pain in the ass to do, not to mention if I can do it for free...

A question on my chem homework. 

 

There were a few options:

a.) 2.0x10^-3

c.) 2.0x10^-4

 

options b.) and d.) were far off the correct answer and I picked 2.0x10^-3 of course got the question wrong because the correct answer was 2.0x10^-4 but I read x10^-3 first and seeing as upon first glance the option I picked would seem correct unless you spent an unproductive amount of time nit picking for no valid reason. 

 

The only reason you would have a question with two answers that were off by a factor of 10 is to intentionally mess people up. 

 

Add that to the list of reasons I'll never respect the field of Chemistry.

A lot of lower level chem is just a giant way to try and simplify quantum mechanics. Which you can't really simplify a ton which leads to confusion and weird rules. But it allows a general understanding even if things don't make any sense in the process of simplifying them.
