Whats wrong with that? This isnt soviet Russia, Apple is a buisness and businesses make money. If its too expensive don't buy it.

yeah they did that with the 5S. I still use a 5s and its surprisingly good for the age

Yeah I'd agree apple has been declining, I did just buy the new 13 in MBP, It is about $600 overpriced but Idk i still like it,I do have to compliment apple on their cooling of this.The processor runs under 100f under light loads.  It is an i5, but its been working pretty good, as I'm used to a 8700k PC.

They certainly aren't anywhere near IBM on their decline though, they are still massively profitable

Apple used social engineering and fashion trend marketing to make the ipod and iphone what it is.   Steve Jobs knew that smartphones were on a slow curve because they were business and nerd devices, he realised that if they were a fashion statement and symbol of status that they would sell to everyone.  We should be thankful for that because when the general public started buying smart phones the injection of cash into the industry was so large that we saw many companies able to drop prices.   Apples marketing policies almost perfectly mirror the big name fashion brands and have done so for a long time.

Yep, they command such a presence now that they are no longer bound by the rules of the game, they can change the rules as suits them.  This is evidenced by the number of people who defend some of their more ridiculous practices.

Grammar and spelling is not indicative of intelligence/knowledge.  Not having the same opinion does not always mean lack of understanding.

I'm not an Apple fanboy, I use 2 PCs and a Chromebook, but I feel Apple has just been one of those brands. Recently Apple has just been mess up after mess up except for few products. Macbook I9, too hot. iPhone 7 no headphone jack, burned people. iPhone Xs Max won't charge when idling. Maybe Apple just hasn't been doing what they used to do like sending out people to just test products in every day use. 

Theyre not generally lethal to the people who use them. Thanks to suicide nets, the people who made them die less too.

The workforce sector I'm talking about is contract work for government projects. If you win the contract, the government gives you money to spend on that project. I'm making a joke that the government is specific about what they need, but since government money is practically secure money, you tell them they really need more things so you can get even more money.

user friendly yes, but just work? not really. having worked in retail tech, I've had people come to me left and right with issues on their iphone. the repair-ability is almost non existent, since changing the screen can brick some phones. And now having worked for tech support for two fortune 500 companies and having to deal with apple products constantly, I can say confidently, they do not "just work" most of the people who say this are ignoring problems or have lucked out. I mentioned the whole charge gate thing to a guy at work who uses apple the other day and asked if his was affected (he has a new one). He started going off on a rant that it was a "feature" Why in heavens name would he want his phone to respond to power input without him unlocking the phone?! That would be a massive security breach because somehow a $1200 phone can't determine the difference between power and data. There are some advantages to ios depending on your personal preference, but the hardware has long been par or subpar at a luxury cost. My Samsung phone just works. I've not had a single problem outside of a cracked screen, which is not the phone's fault.

I like my Macbook Air. I think that Apple did indeed used to be the product that 'just worked'. And in a lot of ways that was true. If I met a college student who was looking for a laptop, I recommended the Air because it does everything (most) college students need with an all day battery life.

 

But now, I can't recommend the new Macbook Pros or the Macbook. The Air is too outdated to even recommend any more too. I feel like Apple has lost their focus on the usability and utility for consumers and has instead focused on making their products a fashion statement. They drive up the price and take away features, have their computers be inferior in some ways just to indoctrinate people into thinking they have the best machine on the market.

 

I think Apple should stop releasing things once a year and focus on better (well tested) products. They should listen to feed back too. I think they should have their special top of the line (no ports, bad cooling, light weight, super expensive, premium look and feel) device... and then have the laptop that everyone should buy.
