Modular power supply question.

apxdml

I dug an old Ultra X3 1000w modular power supply out of storage but am missing some of the cables. I believe the company is no longer in business so I cant order replacement cables from them so I was wondering if it would be safe to use a set from another modular power supply?

If so do you have any recommendations?

Thanks!

I believe I read somewhere that different manufacturers use different shapes on their individual pins so you can't mix them up between different plugs, so I'd imagine this applies also to the same plugs from different manufacturers, but if it fits it ships, I'd think.

DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES MIX MODULAR PSU CABLES IT CAN DO ANYTHING FROM SHORTING THE PSU TO DAMAGING YOUR HARDWARE IF YOU CANT USE THE ORIGINAL CABLES DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT USE RANDOM ONES YOU HAVE LAYING AROUND IT IS VERY DANGEROUS

NO NO NO if it fits it might just blow the fuck up, unless you know exactly how both cable and plug are pinned and you KNOW for sure it is the same DO NOT CHANCE IT WITH MODULAR CABLES

Why would you even want to use a low end, decade old PSU?

No, you can't just use cables from a different PSU to power the system.

:)
