Helios 300 (2017 model) 144hz display upgrade

I have the 2017 model (G3-571-77QK) and saw the 2018 comes with a 144hz display. Does any one know if I can swap my screen with the 144hz one from the 2018 model??

It looks like the 2018 model has a new cooling system (aeroblade metal fans) as well. Anyone know if these are interchangeable?

If it shows that it can support it potentially. You should email them and find out exactly, although good luck trying to find one of their screens for at least a year, parts like that take a fair bit.

It might work but you will not be able to adjust screen brightness. This is the 2017 model which means the BIOS/firmware doesn't support high refresh rate panels

Yeah I was hoping for a teardown video but there are none so far.

 

At least then I could compare things a little
