Looking to get into Linux

So Microsoft has quckly lost me as a customer and I am looking to switch to Linux. I have heard that gaming is a lot better on Linux now compared to previous years. As a complete newb to Linux is there any site/you tuber that is easy for a beginner to understand? And one that walks through the set up processes etc. Thanks.

For the gaming on linux part, LTT actually did a few episode on that:

Here is (I think) the most valuable one.

For getting into linux itself (https://www.linux.org/pages/download/) go there, pick a distribution you like.

For a beginner I would recommend Ubuntu or Mint (mint resembles windows pretty well), but just google and you'll find pros and cons for each distro (

Kali for example is a package with hacking tools, which might be good if you're stress-testing servers or your network or anything. might be a good place to start)

Hope this gave you enough info!

Goodluck! :)

This is pretty useful for ubuntu

Imho no distro is perfect, the best you can try is Ubuntu and Manjaro Linux depending on your hardware.

Just don't expect guarantees or day-1 support from Windows-only games. I use Linux daily, but for most gaming I use Windows. On Linux I played a lot in Baldurs Gate or HoMM3 which were quite stable. But now I play various online games with Blizzard or Bethesda launchers and whatnot.
