I just made a couple of battery packs as my first time like two weeks ago. 

You guys should have tried diy spot welding the cells together with the nichrome strips.

That would have made for a hilarious video. Especially if you made the welder using a car battery like I did.

I wouldn't trust Linus with a welder... Let alone letting him getting one close to a battery...

Hey @nicklmg, why you don't develop some Lithium Battery like this, but to replace those of UPS?

Won't work, you would have to remove the lithium batteries every time to charge or modify the unit, most UPS units use lead batteries which is why they are heavy and take so long to charge.

Plus to use the 18500 batteries mentioned in this video to create a 1500 VA could require large amounts of batteries, and would not be cheap.

Lead again, you could create a Lithium version of it but would still be ridiculously expensive and would still need a special charger to charge the batteries and assuming the unit doesn't produce errors and refuses to charge you would have to yank out the battery pack to prevent issues including fire. Could create a kill switch to prevent charging, but I doubt many would actually go for it when you could just go out and buy a second one or bigger one.
