a10-7800k + GTX 980 low fps in Dota

Hi, handed down my old parts and moved a 980 to rig with a10-7800k. for some reason, dota fps is only at 50-70fps, Is this normal?

Dota 2 is fairly CPU reliant. What API are you running? From what I remember it has DirectX 9, 11 and Vulkan.

No. But that CPU is pretty crap. What are the usages?

40%on cpu gpu is only 8%

Your CPU is really weak, try to OC it to at least 4700 mhz if you have a decent motherboard.

 

not sure how you came to that hardware, I would have likely suggested an R3 2200G at least

Should be doing at least 80fps maybe though

i tried a8 5600k + gtx 970, 120fps to 70fps drops

when my new processor came i5 8400 + gtx 970 i got 210fps-150fps

@Jonshinki yea that's what i expect, around that fps. but it goes 40-60 fps not sure where to look where the problem lies.

atleast u should get around 120-130 fps on that set up but 40-60fps is questionable
