Port Fowarding without router access.

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone. I am trying to host a server from my doorm room. Problem is I need to port forward and I dont have router access (or any control over the network). I was wondering if there are any ways to get around this. Also I know I can use a VPN but I would prefer not to.

There's no real way to forward ports without access to at least the router configuration options.

No, you can't.

Unless you make your clients install some software like hamachi which gamers usually use when they don't know how to port forward their game servers.

My sound system costs more than my PC.        Check out my S340 build log "White Heaven"        The "LIGHTCANON" flashlight build log        Project AntiRoll (prototype)        Custom speaker project

If it supports uPNP and the software that needs the ports does too, its should do it automatically.  But I highly doubt they support it.

Router: i5-7200U appliance running pfSense WiFi: Ubiquiti nanoHD (~700Mbit peak throughput)
ISP: Zen Unlimited Fibre 2 (66Mbit) + Plusnet Unlimited Fibre Extra. (56Mbit)
