Streaming video on Android

I'm looking for an app that let's me stream video from Windows 8 (and hopefully OSX) to my Galaxy Note 2.

What options do I have?

I would like an app able to stream without previous file preparation, and able to stream MKV files

Also if the app is free, better.

You will find lot of application in Google play store to stream the data from internet.But i am not sure the app to stream the video fro windows to android.if you got an app to stream please, notify me.It all depends about telecom phone service provider and its speed for network access.
