Biggest goal, faster speeds for moving files, i get about 103MB/s at the moment, thats using 1 line. My switch is: Netgear JGS524E

So you do have a smart switch, but with a single client teaming won't be any faster.

If you have multiple connections you can use smb 3(no teaming here though) but id use windows server on the host then, and you want a domain.

What network ports does your desktop have?

10gbe is probably the best way to go here, pretty cheap and much faster and works better.

ive thought about 10gbe, expensive though! single 1gbe port in the pc, would definitely consider upgrading though.

You can get 10gbe point to point for about 50 dollars on ebay, check that.

But with only a single gigabit on the client, that will be your limit.

i dont understand what you mean by point to point. My pc is where i send all the biggest files from, i could get a 10gbe NIC for it, and the server, and a switch? although switches are expensive.

You don't need a switch.

You can just get 2 nics and a cable.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/MNPA19-XTR-10GB-MELLANOX-CONNECTX-2-PCIe-X8-10Gbe-SFP-NETWORK-CARD-W-CABLE/282378633999

Get 2 of these and your good.
