Go to solution Solved by palespartan,

I figured I would take advantage of the fact this post hasn't been locked yet to spread the word about this years folding month.

Thanks to the organizers!

Time to set my main rig to fold when idle and sell the 1060 system. And buy something with more heat output, these two rigs were not enough to keep the house warm when outside temps hit -10°C, maybe some 480's? ?

Also missed the deadline for the GPU giveaway, but i never win anything, so no loss there.

Buy maxwell, 980tis do a great job of heating!

Fermi is basically not worth it though, even as heating and folding

Two 290X are better but I guess you can fit more 295Xs in a single computer so sure, 4 of those.

Can you imagine the PCIe bandwidth required for folding on 4 of those tough? ?

Hey sorry again for the extended delays. Just finished all the numbers. And now going to put together the final post and announcement. Should be done by tomorrow including a list of those who qualified for badges! Will also be releasing the datasheet to the public (read only for obvious reasons) so that you can see all the stats you want to. Including the daily production!

Thank you all for being patient.

Just got my electric bill through for November, my electric usage went up by £20 this month. My heatings gas so I can't blame the cold so reckon I know what's to blame haha.

That's running one GPU and 3 CPU's 24/7 at home so not too bad. I'd hate to think how much the guys with serious rigs are spending but guess if you can afford it then why not, it's for a good cause.

Gaming Rig: Intel i5 8600k @ 5Ghz (-1 AVX) 1.325v - MSI Z370 Gaming M5 mobo - MSI GTX1070 Gaming 8GB - 32GB Corsair Vengeance 2600MHz 4x8GB - CM ML240L RGB 240mm AIO - 240GB NVME, 480GB SSD, 240GB SSD, 2TB HDD, 1TB HDD - Corsair RM750x PSU - Silverstone PM02

Media Server: Intel G4400 - MSI Z270 Gaming Plus - 4GB RAM - 600GB WD Raptor - 10TB RAID5 - CM HAF932

Surface Pro 4: Intel i7 6650U - 8GB RAM - 256GB SSD

I think for those that can GPU up with underclocking/undervolting, then it actually isn't TOO bad.  For those like you and I doing CPU folding, well…mine was $100 more for the month than last month thanks to running the xeons full power for the month vs having some idle cores.  That's being nice too, since the family was away for many days for Thanksgiving week too, so we didn't even have full normal usage for the month.

Must admit I didn't play around with underclokcing/volting my GPU and just let it run at full whack for the month. I've toned everything back for now but I'm grabbing an old GTX580 from a friend later in the month when they upgrade, going to stick that in one of the machines at work where it can fold 24/7 and I don't have to pay the bill. It's obviously not a great card but can just let it get on with things long term and will be better than only running a few older CPUs all the time.

Also, I know the figures from extreme overclocking show you your daily totals but is there anyway to see a breakdown of what individual computers you are using? I have F@H installed on quite a few machines but without remotely accessing them all I want to be able to see what they're all doing in one place, is this possible?

To give you an idea, this is my spreadsheet of the work machines I have it running on;

image.png.39a06f1643a8737a48b3cbb3d6a0d109.png

Whilst I can log into each machine separately and check the web or advance control, having somewhere where I could see all there figures in one place would be really good.

Ok, no more cardboard boxes. Time to get back it. I'll probably do between 7-9M PPD for the rest of the winter.
