My EVGA 1060 6GB short board presently in my workstation hits 72C with a 70% fan at 21-25C ambient.

My EVGA 1060 6GB SC2 dual Fan which is the lower card in my main folding rig hits 59-62C at 70% fan.

Both produce 390-440K depending on the WU

I’ve been impressed with the 2070. It’s hitting 58-61C at 70% fan 1.2-1.3M PPD in my test box but it has great better airflow compared to the other two systems.

If NVidia comes out with a 2060 it could be a really nice card for efficient folding depending on the price point.  I’m guessing $350-400US given the current pricing trends.

Yeah I have been waiting for a 2060 as that may work for a cheaper way for me to upgrade from a 970, but will wait for the trusted reviews see how it goes.

Probably better off getting a 1070/1070 Ti at that price. 1070 Tis are basically identical PPD to 1080s, ~850k. But still excited to see how it goes

If someone has like 50 GPUs stored and can fold for the remaining days we could just beat out EVGA for the month.

Boys, I did it.

Side note - I just had to turn on my heat for the first time all month. Apparently 3 Pascal GPUs and a 750 Ti running at 70C is not enough to heat an 8x11 bedroom (with slanted ceilings mind you). Welp... Guess it's time to purchase more GPUs

Looks like I accomplised my goal of reaching the top 100!

image.png.d88c7e8fcb3c1357c13bf89cb98ca0b5.png

My room mate is back home so I'm down to the R7 1700 (8 cores), 980 and the 1080Ti, but my goal at least for the year is to hit the 100million mark (and get the Gold Origamist badge).

It's all those Finns acting as a dust filter (as opposed to Estonians)

Rough, minus 300k off a normal day for me. And for some reason, 14124 is only super hard on my 1080 Tis. The 1080 handles it fine.

Just guessing, but the vram bandwidth relative ratio to the cuda cores gets worse as you go up the range.

Yeah but if this had a real effect then you would think memory speed would affect it just as much, and it definitely doesn’t in my experience (and I don’t think the negative scaling you’re talking about is that pronounced, correct me if I’m wrong).

I just wanted to give a shout-out to thank Jason who runs the Extreme Overclocking  site that likely most of us folding this month have been looking at a lot.

Jason has also helped us this month by providing a customized query we’ve been using for collecting some of the statistics.

Jason has been running the site for over 10 years and maintains the site through advertising which provides barely enough revenue to cover his hosting fees. He relies on donations for hardware upgrades for his server and has a paypal button on his stats pages.

I’ve just sent him $20 to say thanks for the help he’s provided and the excellent work he does and I hope some of you fellow folders will also consider contributing what you can to help Jason keep the site up and running.

Keep on Folding!

I haven't done any testing myself, just random speculation at this point. I had wanted to do a wider folding bench test but that'll be after this month is over.
