LTT Official Folding Month 2018!!!

Go to solution Solved by palespartan,

I figured I would take advantage of the fact this post hasn't been locked yet to spread the word about this years folding month.

Folding month 2019!!

See the thread for detail and don't forget to spread the word!!!

@leadeater you can now lock this one.

Can you PM me your EOC link please so I can look into this, we have recently swapped to automated data entry so there may be some questionable data in the first couple days.

Tomerrs seems to have cooled down a bit to a steady 8.5 million PPD after producing almost 10 million PPD on the 5th

Either @King Poet has had some sunny cool weather to help him with his a/c and solar issues or he’s just decided to give a nice early present to the Electricity provider down under and is now producing around 7.2 Million PPD

@_Rlocke has bubbled up in the production and looks like will finish the day above 7 million PPD

Linus must have noticed some cards missing and LMG_Jakkuh has dropped to around 3.5 million PPD from the 6.5 he was at.

I’m producing just a bit over 3 million PPD. That chrome book running NaCl must have done the trick!

@Dissitesuxba11s is hot on my tail at just under 3 million PPD

@Ben Quigley is purring along at around 2.5 million PPD

@porina just keeps swimming along at 2 million PPD

@palespartan is just under 2 million PPD and is in hot competition with @DUW1G1T @Cereal5 @Yabdat and maybe a few others bubbling up through the ranks.

Now that registrations closed with the final list of participants we’ve got the statistics gathering automated and once @Ben Quigley puts the final touches on the spreadsheet we’ll be able to get the updates out very quickly.

Keep on Folding!

Had to take two rigs down so I can finish building, but they’ll be back up soon.

Do you have some kind of firewall?

I did clean WIndows 10 install with AMD drivers and everything worked out of the box. Not even my router with VPN, over the top rules and intrusion detection caused any problems.

@Ben Quigley @Cereal5 Just putting the info out. So under inspector i am in P2. Cant seem to find where to lock to P0, But under the P2 state overclock page i can move the slider over to get back up to 3705 mem clock.

Also looking at my card i think i have have the switch for the duel bios in the factory not OC position the whole time i have owned the card ?

Even if you could it might not be a good idea Ive crashed more because of too high of a mem OC than anything other else with folding. It seems to be harder on mem because one mistake will usually fail an entire WU as opposed to a game where it can recover pretty quickly.

Even on the full client it's not working... Thanks for your help anyways :)

try to hotspot with your phone or something see if getting off of your home network will solve the problem. That will be a good indicator as to where the issue is.

WOO!!!!! We gotta keep pushing though guys!

Squeeze every last point of of your system, make them cry, nay, make them SCREAM as they fold, fold, fold away!

For me with the coil wine off of my card (caused by my mobo) it literally does scream. lol

I’m debating whether or not I can push my memory OC higher in P2. currently im at +500 (5000 MHz, which is stock speed in P0) and I’ve had no problems so I’ll have to try pushing it a couple hundred higher to see if I can just manually give it more clock speed lol... probably not the best idea cause one day it’ll randomly switch back to P0 and crash probably

As I said above be careful with mem OC it does help a lot but can be easy to push too far.

You buying new or used? If new, you should go the RTX 2070 instead of 1080. It's roughly the same price as the 1080, but you will get better PPD and save on electricity. Plus if you want to resell it in a year or two time, the RTX2070 will probably hold value better than the 1080 which will then be a 4 year old card.

@Gorgon is running a RTX2070 and is getting pretty good results for it.

Apparently at stock they do about 2.4m PPD, but don't quote me on that. If accurate then the PPD/Watt ratio is about double that of the 1080Ti, so for power consumption reasons alone it makes a lot of sense. Also a lot easier to cool a single card rather than two 1080s/1080Tis

Return the 1080 you bought and buy a 2080Ti instead? :D

The PPD/dollar though is worse than a 1080, and a 1080 is worse than a 1080 Ti and 1070 Ti. I don’t pay for electricity so it’s a matter of how I want to heat my room, HVAC or computer lol. The 1080 I got was used and I got a pretty good deal on it so I’ll just stick with that. There is another’s one I can get For about the same price but I think I’m just out of budget for the month lol

Huge spike in yesterdays points. Also the WU count doubled.

Must have been @jakkuh_t promoting it on the WAN show. Lots of new people joining. Once they get their 10WU complete and start getting the QRB the teams daily points should go up even higher (though, most people will probably quit after a day or two).

LTT is now only 4 weeks away from overtaking Maximum PC magazine and China Folding@Home Power.
