Hey all, I'm sorry that it has taken me so long to push the badges out. Unfortunately I've been quite ill and busy over the Christmas and New Year period and haven't had the time or ability to start assigning them. But at last, the badges have been handed out!   The event badges should have been handed out to everyone who met the requirements for them. Look under badges. Creaser is 25,000,000 so you should have got contributer (21WU) and bender (1,000,000 points) as well... haha.

On a slightly different note, I was desperately hoping that I could hit a million PPD but think that 992k is the closest I'm gonna get, I've thrown everything I can at it but with only a GTX1070 and a GTX750ti I don't think it matters how many CPUs I throw at it I won't quite get there. This is with 21 CPUs and I really can't manage any more than that. On the upside, I'll slow things down after this as like many others I'm having gaming withdrawal symptoms haha. All the office CPUs that are going and the 750ti will keep going (at least until I get caught at work) but my 1070 and 8600k are desperate for some Assassin's Creed Odyssey, some Forza and maybe even some Fifa (please don't hate me for that last one haha).

 

Congrats to @Ben Quigley on getting the 1080 as well. Couldn't think of anyone more deserving after the work you've put in on this side of things.

follow up question: does the 15 day requirement include today? I am not certain I made the requirement for 1 WU / day as I didn't know about this until almost half way through the month. I've had more than 15 days of active folding but I usually fold at night then tell it to finish whatever is going in the morning. Would love to get the badge but if I don't I guess it is what it is.

The event closes Dec 1st at 12:00AM GMT.  So I would imagine that the stats (and participation requirement) will include today (the 30th).

I have to change my entire set up around since I put my main computer in the corner and let it hotbox, and did all my normal stuff on my new 3570K system. First world problems... ugh.

Yo guys so I just switched my systems back over, and I'm getting this message when opening the advanced client

"On client "local" [address]: Option 'gpu-index' has no default and is not set.
iter should be a GtkTreeIter"

 

The only option under "Configure" is "Connection"

Screenshot of the client. The GPU will load up like normal, but everything is still grayed out

 

So I typed all of that out then thought to myself "Well, why don't I just uninstall and reinstall the client." So I opened up microsoft uninstaller, didn't show up, so I opened the file in file explorer, ran the uninstaller, and it proceeded to delete my entire Program Files folder from my computer.

 

My entire Program Files folder.

Except iTunes.

 

I couldn't even tell you 25% of what was in there without looking at my desktop, and that's excluding all the files I had that didn't have a desktop shortcut. I didn't even get any open space on my HDD...?

Shut it down now and begin data recovery (mount virtually, search for files, recover deleted files, etc.)

Unfortunately no, I’m not that good. I usually use a tutorial when recovering data. 

I do know that you want the drive disconnected as fast as possible though to prevent the deleted data from being overwritten.

Yo guys so I just switched my systems back over, and I'm getting this message when opening the advanced client

Screenshot of the client. The GPU will load up like normal, but everything is still grayed out

 

So I typed all of that out then thought to myself "Well, why don't I just uninstall and reinstall the client." So I opened up microsoft uninstaller, didn't show up, so I opened the file in file explorer, ran the uninstaller, and it proceeded to delete my entire Program Files folder from my computer.

 

My entire Program Files folder.

Except iTunes.

 

I couldn't even tell you 25% of what was in there without looking at my desktop, and that's excluding all the files I had that didn't have a desktop shortcut. I didn't even get any open space on my HDD...?

Download Recuva and run it on the drive to see what files are still there... Though seeing as how it's program files folder you'd likely face a lot of issues with programs where if just a single .dll or config file is missing/unrecoverable the program may stop working.
Make a post in the storage devices forum and get some help there. Though if it were me I'd just uninstall all the programs and install them again or even just reinstall windows.

Yeah, I'm working on that, validating the whole thing to make sure and to check the 15 days activity takes time.
