See the thread for detail and don't forget to spread the word!!!

@leadeater you can now lock this one.

-Thanks

I have been folding since the Wan show talking about the folding month, at the 10 november or so.

I can't seem to figure out, if i am in or not of the folding month.

I have about 2.1M points and 52 WU, and i think 13 working days. but i can't seem to find myself on the lists, so i guess i didn't register or something?

Day Five - Folding Month 2018

Things have been mostly quiet out on the folding front, although there have been a fair few rank changes, these were all expected and not many surprises have been seen. The question is, is this the start of ranks being solidified for the most part. We the days go on we should start some see some real performance bands appearing, where gaps open up in the ranks showing the different level of hardware we have running in the event! Guys, do try to remember we are not only folding for personal glory but also for the good of the team! VIVA LA LINUS!

The king is managing to hold onto first place by the skin of his teeth with 22million points, But both Tommers and Jakkuh who hold 2nd and 3rd are gunning for him with higher production rates. In 4th we have Dissitesuxba11s with just about 12million points, followed by Ben Quigley with 11.8million. Porina is just 600k behind in 6th position and Gorgon is tailing him closing with 10million points! Palespartan is still in the running with 9million points. Cereal5 in holding onto 9th position with 6.4million points, Invaderzim117 is over 1million points behind with 5.3million. The top ten is looking rather fleshed out, now onto the other guys.

TVwazhere is looking strong in 11th, but D_newb is not far off that mark with 5million points. _Rlocke is in 13th with 4.6million, Cagedanimalz is only 100k points behind him, followed by RollinLower in 15th  with only 50k points difference. Willhemmens is on 16th with 4.2million, 17th is still held by Stijnman with 4.1million and RAS has held onto 18th with a straight 4million. 19th and 20th, Powelji and DUW1G1T are separated by only 10k points.

So, in a twist of events the King looks poise to fall, not only to the number two spot, but also even further to the bottom of the podium. Both @jakkuh_t and @Tomerrs have the production to topple the oppressive regime of royalty and install themselves as figureheads.  @Dissitesuxba11s has managed to keep 4th by knocking @Ben Quigley down a peg, but is he going to take that lying down? @porina Is in 6th and the is the last of the over 2million points per day pack, Gorgon is trailing that pack with 1.6 million production. @palespartan Has once again closed the gap between him and gorgon by small amounts, But remember guys, this is a marathon, not a sprint. @Cereal5 Is looking comfortable in front Invaderzim, but there are threats form lower down the board who have the power to nudge them from the top ten pack, if only they have the stamina to maintain! @_Rlocke and DUW1G1T are ones to watch over the next few days to see if they can keep up the pace.

If your numbers seem off, or you cant find yourself on the list then please do get in contact with me and I will double check on your data, we currently have 360 sign-ups but only around 200 have produced any points so far for the event.

Please remember we have minimum participation requirements, these are 100k points, 15WUs, and 15 days of having activity over the course of the whole month.

Once again, if you don't have a valid folding name with Stanford by the time entries close, which is 23:59GMT tonight, your records will be deleted in our database.

Thanks for participating in the event!

Happy folding,

Ben.

We’ve had a few people contact us recently about not being on the list of folders participating in the Folding Month competition.

Please be aware that the Folding Month Competition is separate from the GPU giveaway from LMG and you do not need to be registered for the Competition for the giveaway.

The sign-up for the Competition closed at 23:59 GMT November 6th and was announced multiple times with requests to contact us if your details did not appear on the list. We will not be adding anyone who did not contact us before the sign-up closed to the Competition.

No problem. Thanks for contributing we appreciate all the help we have received from people participating in the competition and all the others who are helping out as well. We've made some amazing progress this month for the LTT Folding Team and, most importantly, for the researchers who we are lending the excess capacity we have on our systems to.

As part of the wrap up for the competition we will be looking at the points contributed overall as well as the breakdown of points contributed by the competition members so we should be able to infer and acknowledge the contribution of the rest of the LTT Folding Team over the month.

The competition is mostly about bragging rights ? and getting a special badge for your profile. Badges are also available for anyone, however, after 21 WUs are completed and after 1, 25, 100 and 500 Million Points are contributed.

If we do a lessons learnt after the competition is over I believe it should include:

  • Have the Competition announced well in advance via shout-outs on the WAN Show and on the Forums
  • Have any give-aways from LTT announced with the Competition
  • Have the Sign Up opened a few weeks before the Competition starts for people to work out any bugs and close on the first day of the Competition

Don't forget about recruiting for the data entry portion of the event!

Don't want to see you guys run ragged for the  next time.

We will have it automated from the start next time, rather than from the second week.

That reminds me, can you PM me a list of people who helped out with getting the data organized.

I have... something... in mind Dec. 2nd.

I think he should be disqualified personally, we don't shouldn't allow corporate sponsors lmfao

I'm surprised Linus is letting him fold under his own name as opposed to making him fold under Linus' name or LMG.

Yes to all three of those.

Yeah this will be much easier next time (now that we know what were doing and will close entries at the start of the event)

It doesn't really matter since there are no actual stakes. Setting up whole new ID for what will be a couple of weeks of folding while they wait for a new BIOS seems like a waste of time. We asked for LMG power and we got it. Pretty happy about that.

I'm officially retiring out of Folding month, my paranoia for the electricity bill as well as my general irrational fear of dust build-up is taking me over, especially since I'm still new to my new job and I'd rather focus on that than fear for the aforementioned issues. :(

My last work unit is going to finish in 3 hours, and after that, I'll be stopping Folding for the month and the unforeseeable future.

Good luck to the rest of you guys, happy folding!

But you're only four days away from the end of the month! At least hold out till then! Do it for "Fuck cancer!"

Also would like to point out LTT has 18 folders over 2M PPD. Two weeks ago I was in that list with only 1.3m PPD

That's still quite a long while for me, I keep getting the long WUs nowadays that take 4-5 hours and dish out 50-60K points in the end... Pretty insignificant compared to the top 100 that are above me by a long shot.
