Can't seem to update Cover photo properly

So I've tried using both Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome using a png and a jpg file, and can't seem to be able to update my cover photo properly. It shows when I click on the drop down for Profile, Settings etc., but not when I'm on my profile itself. Also, when I uploaded and saved the photo, it didn't even allow me to re position the photo as it used to. Anyone else encountering such issues?

On a side note, I have been noticing my png profile pic seems to break randomly for myself and others every now and then. Are there also some settings for pngs we should look out for? 

 

On a side side note, has my name always been chopped off like that? I haven't logged on for a while. Damn it looks terrible.

your profile pic doesnt work either btw. Its transparent with a question mark in it.

Can you see my cover photo on my profile? All I see is solid grey for everyones' profile on both Edge and Chrome.

Your cover photos are still there, but a CSS change seems to have set their opacity to 0.0001 for some reason. This might be by design, or might just be a bug with the CSS. Mines still there - you just have to know where to look. If you manage to find it, you get to guess which human is me.

Awesome! On a side note, @Densetsu and I have been finding that sometimes our GIF profile pictures are not displaying correctly. For some members, it's essentially showing as a missing image and for others, it's perfectly fine. Is this also a known issue? I know GIFs were finicky in the past.

@colonel_mortis on the same topic, i just noticed mine's disappeared and has been replaced by a default design of some sorts, was everyone's cover photo reset?

Mine wasn't removed, and nor were the other people in this topic unless they reuploaded them. Are you sure that you definitely had a cover photo before?

like 90% sure i had this has my banner before the last forum upgrade that let you choose a BG for the entire profile

Whole profile background images weren't converted to banners, it's just banners that had been uploaded in 2016-2018 (since we moved to IPS4) that should have been preserved by the update.

i know i have screen caps of my old profile during IPB3, after the update i chose the above pic as my banner as i couldnt set a BG to my whole profile, but did anything change in the last year? like was there any other update that caused this ? this is not really a big issue, i can just upload it again, was just curious why it would remove mine entirely.

If you set it as a banner since updating to IPS4 then it shouldn't have been deleted. You also didn't have a cover photo when the wayback machine saved your profile in January though [https://web.archive.org/web/20180105032703/https://linustechtips.com/main/profile/21562-rohith_kumar_sp/], so it's not a current issue.
