Make sure to get an actual good PSU instead of just a high wattage one. Something like a Corsair cxm or an EVGA G2

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k (won) - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Kill Trident Z RGB - Force MP500 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - The venerated Hyper 212 Evo (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G2 650W - Black and green theme, Razer branwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

Linux Proliant ML150 G6:

Dual Xeon X5560 - 24GB ECC DDR3 - GTX 750 TI - old Seagate 1.5TB HDD - Dark moded Ubuntu (and Win7, cuz why not)

EVGA G3 threadSeasonic Focus threadUserbenchmark (Et al.) is trash explained, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

Your performance may vary. My advice is to figure out your baseline. You can do this by using intel's ark utility and adding to this the performance data from your graphics card manufacturer. These are the major power hogs in any build and will give you an idea of your base power requirements under load.

Be aware any overclock can use up to triple the power load quoted. this does reduce with later gen processors as increasing the voltage will increase the chance of a charge jumping the traces and thus data corruption. They are more efficient, so swings and roundabouts.

Do you think 500W is going to be enough? or 450 even

550W is good for pretty much any single card config unless you're running Vega, for that or SLI get 650-850W.

If the PSU is a decent one, like the Pure Power 10 or Vengeance, you're fine. If not, replace it with a decent 450W PSU. Formula 450W, Straight Power 11 or Whisper M.

The cooler is unnecessary. The stock cooler is fine.

Interested in computer architecture? Still in middle or high school? P.M. me!

I love computer hardware and feel free to ask me anything about that (or phones). I especially like SSDs. But please do not ask me anything about Networking, programming, command line stuff, or any relatively hard software stuff. I know next to nothing about that.
