windows wont let me install my laptop software

#Banana

I reinstalled windows on my laptop and im unable to install the Samsung software suite, i need portions of it to adjust screen brightness and keyboard back light brightness.   I keep getting the protection warning in the picture. sorry i took the picture with my phone because windows nor lightshot was letting me screen shot it.

Any ideas for a work around?  I have tried "run as administrator" using a local administrator account.

Red header of the UAC prompt means that the application is blocked by a Group Policy or is from a publisher that is blocked by Microsoft or your anti-virus which added entries.

  • Are you joined to a company or school domain?
  • Did you use any system tweak tool?
  • Did you install a third-party security software of any kind on your system?

your account is linked to an e-mail, or is it a local account?

If you are using an e-mail, say school e-mail, then the group policies of that are applied to your account.

Try the following:

  • Try renaming the setup file to something else, and run it as Admin.

    If that does not help:

  • Open Command Prompt as Administrator, and go to the folder where you have the setup

They are many ways :)

Do Win+X or Right-click on the start menu button, and pick "Command Prompt (Admin)", or "PowerShell (Admin)"

Or, in a folder, like the one where the setup is located, go to File, roll over "PowerShell" or "Command Prompt", and go to "Open PowerShell/Command Prompt as administrator"

Or, open the Start menu > type: cmd > right-click on "Command Prompt" that will show > Run as Administrator"

ok well, you asked for it!

https://www.samsung.com/us/support/downloads/

the web address does not change so you have to fallow these steps :(

from there click computing(click ONLY ONCE) > windows laptops>  ATIV book> select book 9 in drop down> in model select book 9 plus> click confirm> finally under software click download!

If you open the command prompt as administrator, navigate where the exe has been extracted to, and run it, it will run
