PCIE SSD not being recognized on boot

Hi,

I am using a ASUS ROG STRIX B350-F GAMING  and am trying it to boot from a PCIE SSD. The issue is that windows sees and flashes the drive but the asus motherboard doesn't recognize. I tried flippin some of the most obvious bios setting but no luck :(

If you install windows directly to the drive does that fix it?

the drive might need a bit of software to be loaded first before it can be bootable which windows might do automatically when it's installed on such a drive.

Try updating BIOS/UEFI to latest version.

You should be able to select the drive as a boot drive in the UEFI. Set the priority so that it tries the PCI-e drive first, or second after USB.
