Purchased a Stereo System, open box condition.  Stereo arrives with RMA sticker present, and address of previous owner + return label to Newegg.  I plug in receiver and error code shows a blown amp.  I call Newegg, they deny the item was ever an RMA and it was a display model - until I provide them with the RMA number from the previous purchaser, including their address and dates.  The description on the purchase on the website said it was tested in house prior to shipment to ensure it worked.  However, none of the wires to any of the speakers or subwoofer were out of their plastic sleeves and still neatly wrapped as if the previous owner had plugged in the receiver, got the same code and RMA'd the item.  When I brought this up they denied this could be possible as they tested this system before shipping it.  LOTS of lies baked into this transaction.

They wanted me to pay return shipping

They wanted me to pay a restocking fee

I ended up paying nothing, returning item on their dime and getting a 10% off my next order up to $10 off.  They had my money tied up for over 2 weeks.

 

Newegg shame on you

Newegg Customer Service shame on you for lying about the item and refusing to do anything about it until you got caught with RMA numbers etc.

I have another beef with them that started yesterday, with them currently offering me $50 to be happy.  Will post about it when its said and done.

Newegg customer service is such a nightmare

I don't knowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww I've had really good experiences with them.

 

I bought an open box monitor from them fully expecting it to have issues. It showed up. Sure enough the reds were over saturated and the blues would flicker. I wanted an RMA number and I told them I would pay return shipping. I just wanted my $1,000 back for the monitor.

 

They listened, and they ultimately disagreed with me and said that it wasn't my fault. They gave me free return shipping and that was it.

 

Just depends on who you get and how you present things.

 

Now I've had issues with NZXT. They flat out ignored me after two emails regarding the S340 Elite. This was all while that Science Studio idiot fried his board and NZXT replaced it and everything else he fried. Then the moron said they take care of all their customers that way and his YT channel with 150k followers had nothing to do with it. smh

I place 4-6 orders a week with them, this is only 1 of 2 BIG deals for 2018 where they have screwed the pooch.  The second issue has to do with 2 canceled GPU purchases where they oversold stock (canceled on their end not mine, without notification to me) then they raised the price and said I could just buy again.  

 

FYI they STILL have my money from this current situation, and I climbed the Newegg CS ladder for 2 hours today until I got a manager and they are giving me a $50 credit to my account.  Their initial response was oh well you will get your money back when you get your money back.  

 

None of this should happen with a reputable site.  They should honor themselves, prices, and who they allow to do transactions on their platform.  As for presentation, not sure how you can improve on "Order # XXXXXXXXX - you canceled my two purchases, yet still have my money in limbo I want the GPUs I ordered or my money back now"  Newegg cliff note response (until I said look at my account and order history and then come back and talk to me...at which point they gave me $50 bucks) "Your bank account issue not ours."

 

When I proof out stuff to Amazon they usually tell me to keep the item and refund me within the same conversation.  I don't want anything free, I want what I pay for - and their upcharge is supposed to include Customer Service.

Would you look at this!  Sending PM now, with order #, refund # etc.

 

This happened May of this year.  What prompted this post was another issue that is finally being resolved by Newegg where they had my funds locked up for 5+ days based on their mistakes, then pulling my leg with promises only to renege.  Glad you are reading this, because Bob, Reef and Carrie all gave me different reasons for what Im going through now (Stock Out, Price Updated mid transaction - but both transactions that day got canceled by Newegg, and the third one blamed the Vendor itself) - then I speak with the vendor over emails and they say NEWEGG made them cancel the orders because it was Neweggs websites issue - completely getting the run-around!!!

 

I ordered 2 items over the weekend from you guys alone - I order near daily - and I really don't appreciate being treated like a fool by your CS reps.
