after the files are loaded and it goes to reboot , remove the installation media , might be getting hung up if you're doing it through usb and not a cd

If it's UEFI installation then - is your a) installatioon media in GPT for UEFI, b) your BIOS sets to boot from UEFI device, c) your hard drive GPT prepared?

Or if it's legacy install then - is your a) insallation media in MBR for Legacy boot, b) your BIOS sets to  boot in Legacy mode, c) your hard drive MBR prepared?

If your OS on laptop was win10 and now you trying to install win7, then you must change UEFI to Legacy in BIOS. And also format drive in MBR scheme.

from what i can see it looks like it's suppose to be a windows 10 laptop

Nothing is wrong with this laptop imo. I bet it has operating system before you start to change things.

I wonder if its like some of the dreaded Dell computers, no matter what changes you made in bios/ uefi it would revert back to original settings.

which meant you couldnt dual boot amongst other things

current main system: as of 1st Jan 2023

motherboard : Gigabyte B450M DS3H V2

CPU: Ryzen 5 3600

ram : 16Gig Corsair Vengeance 3600mhz

OS :multi-boot

Video Card : RX 550 4 GIG

Monitor: BENQ 21 inch
