You can get windows 10 from their site without needing to enter a key. However, for windows 7, you'll need a product key to get the iso file (if you don't already have one)

What do you mean by simultaneous working? Does your host OS not allow enough multitasking?

I run up to 4VM's + stock OS  just because I dont want to mix my work files, nothing wrong with that tbh. I'm not the only one, got a few more workers here who do the same. Helps keeping everything tidy

Nothing wrong indeed, just wanted to make sure if using VM is really the right way to go for OP, if resource consumption is such an issue.

And if host machine is lacking resources, OP might want to consider using Linux instead in the VM, if tools allow.

I run every Windows-based OS under VM, from 95 up. Never had any stability issues with any of them. Grab the one you like the most and enjoy

NOTE: I no longer frequent this site. If you really need help, PM/DM me and my e.mail will alert me.

I give my Win7 VM 8 cores (because I can, but 4 is fine) and 16GB of RAM (again, because I can)

ESXi is always an option. Granted, it's more aimed for someone (or a business) that requires multiple VMs to run on a single machine. I have ESXi loaded up on my server at home at the moment. Very simple and easy to use, and since the actual OS is all command line, very low consumption of resources.

PC: Ryzen 2600X, EVGA 1080 DT, Gigabyte X470 Aorus Gaming 5 WiFi, Corsair 2x8GB DDR4 3000Mhz, EVGA SuperNOVA G2 750W 80+ Gold, Phanteks  Enthoo EVOLV ATX

Peripherals: Logitech G502 HERO, Cooler Master ML510, Corsair K68 Cherry MX Red, Dell S2417DG YNY1D 24" 165HZ G-Sync 1440p, Acer XF251Q,

Audio: AKG K7XX, JBL SLR308 MKI, Scarlett 2i4 (2nd Gen), Sony MDR-7506, Shure SE-215, Audio-Technica AT2020
Server: Dell Poweredge T420 running ESXi, Hosting Plex and Automation services and misc. game servers; 2x Xeon E5-2400, 32GB ECC Memory, ~40TB Storage (Mix of SSDs and HDDs)
Network: Asus RT-AC3100 (Current), Supermicro running pfsense, 10/100/1000/10000 Netgear Switch
