PC Random Black Screen but Audio still playing

kosuke09211

Recently my pc having some black screen issue again.

It happen before but after i swap the 6pin connector to the another 6 pin. It fixed the issue for a few months. Now the same problem happen again. Its possible because of my 5 year+ PSU failing or the GPU dying?

Full spec:

I5 3570k@4.2Ghz

Asus P8Z77-V LK

Kingston HyperX Genesis 4GB DDR3 1600Mhz X4

Samsung 850 Evo 250gb SSD

Western Digital Blue 500gb HDD

Asus Strix Gtx 1060 GDR5 6GB

Cooler Master GX650W 80plus Bronze

Cooler Master HAF912 Mid Tower Case

I'm also thinking of swapping to Cooler Master V650 semi-modular 80plus Gold PSU. Its good enough?

You don't need a 650W PSU for this system. You're not even pushing 300W. A 500 or 550 should be more than good enough.

I'm thinking this could be a driver issue as well, considering the system doesn't actually power off. Worth doing a run of DDU and a fresh video driver.

since swapping cables helped, i am very confident its your psu. even though 450Watts is enough, a 600Watt unit wouldn't hurt in terms of future-proofing.

hope you can fix it soon! good luck.

That's new to hear o_O. I always though it needs at least 500w+

I replaced a new PSU with Cooler Master V650 gold. Now the issue is gone but idk why my PSU kept giving me buzzing sound. Even when my pc is off?

sounds like coil while. maybe in your 5v passive rail?

Am not sure. Use it for couple of days. I notice the situation only happen from time to time. But other than that my stuff are working fine. Voltage/watt are stable as well.

coil whine mostly occures in a specific range of power draw.. its different for every unit
