The fact that you guys "did it" screams not only how out of touch Intel is with the competition, but their own customer base, which sadly has been the status quo now for many years.

 

Can you imagine if the Magnuson-Moss warranty act included CPU's??? - allowing you to modify them any way you can with the burden of proof on the manufacturer to claim your properly executed mod caused failure/damage.

Man, if there's only a way to showcase that sick IHS design even with the water block or heatsink on top of it...

 

And I do not mean that water block with a miniature screen on it or taking a picture of the IHS and then pasting it at the top of the heatsink.

 

Perhaps LMG can find a way to do so?

the engraving CNC they use has a laser which can not cut into shiny metals like copper, gold, etc .. it can go into plastics, wood etc and some metals, IF you cover the surface with some black paint (and even then the results would not be great)

to cut metals and engrave shiny/reflective metals, you need a laser of a different type which is more expensive, probably worth $30-50k when new...

Why would you lap the bottom of the IHS? The LM is going to corrode the bare copper.

I got 352 likes on the YT video for that comment... then got shadow banned (as the comment is not there when I look when not logged in to google, or when using another account). Does Linus have some type of hard policy about others having better cheesy puns than him? lol. But seriously.. seems a bit shady to be auto-shadow banning people. But it could be some type of google thing instead of a LTT thing. I trust LTT more than google at this point.
