I was thinking should I give my PC a name too. Untll giving it a personality make me feels like a slave owner.

Because my PC is a video editing and rendering (part time gaming) workhouse. It often work overnight when I went to bed.  Another PC is a NAS, which has to stay on 24/7 no matter what. Which feels very much like force labor.

To make sure I sleep well every night while leave it working 100% for hours and hours, I will not give them names.

All my computers had a name, let's see:

2009 Socket 775 system: "The Trasher" ("i'm broke, my family is broke, so it has trash parts")

2012 AMD FM2+ system: "Il bell'Antonio" ("looks good but doesn't perform well")

2015 LGA1150 system: "Project Diesel 2.3" ("dirty, but works really well")

2017 LGA1366 system: "Project Diesel 3.0" ("no longer dirty, its kinda like a SEMA show truck")

2018 AMD AM4 system: "Project Carbon" (was supposed to "Project Suburban HTPC", but its purpose was changed, so the name changed as well)

Lil' Lightning Totes Adorbs.

Ncase M1, and a quad-core processor I didn't realise would age quite this quickly. Should rename her Moderately Expeditious Totes Adorbs.

I find the names helpful for identifying the systems in my network manager, since they auto populate there.

My desktop is Steven and the laptop is Stewart, because if someone calls me by the wrong name, it's one of those two.

That almost sounds like a problem I would have. . .

I was going to say a name I thought up but it's probably better not to.

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie,
        In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
        In Flanders fields.

"Eclipse" as its appearance reminds me of a show I like.

If you changed a part, say replace a GPU only, is this the same PC? so it needs a different name?

We have networking themes and the PC's are all "named/coded" accordingly. So for the house network we were Castaway Island and all our PC's were named accordingly. I was Gilligan, my dad the Professor, brother the Skipper, etc...

For some reason my PC is the only one left in the house but I still run with the naming scheme cuz.... why not I guess.
