Looking for a camera

Hello !
I want to buy a camera.
Iv been spending some time with a T6i and I was thinking of maybe buying one ?

but idk if I should get that or like a t7i.

I want to take pictures with my telescope. some astrophotographie. and some regular pictures.

My budget is roughly 1000$ cad. I don't mind used.

The t7i (800d) is a much better camera than the t6i. If you can afford it, it makes no sense to go with the t6i.

Personally, I'd probably push you towards the Nikon D5600, D5300, or even the D7200.

System Specs: Second-class potato, slightly mouldy

I get the d7200, but why the other 2? There is no benefit whatsoever, in fact, you technically are at a loss because you can't use the entire range of nikkor af lenses while you can with the Canon.

I also think that the 800d would be better than the d5600 even on paper and even the d7200 wouln't really be that much better unless you needed the more profesionally oriented features...

idk why, spec wise they look worse.

+ I can get the t7i body for 700 cad, and I already have a 35-80 lense I can use.

Don't, look for a used 18-55mm STM IS, those 35-80s arent the sharpest lenses and since they only have a variable aperture, you may as well spend the extra $60.

Or better yet, spend 250 and get a used 17-50mm f/2.8 from tamron or sigma instead.

Now moon is easy target because of its brightness.

But other types of astrophotography are mostly very demanding, because of usually very low target brightness...

As in often needing whole evening/night for taking exposures to combine for single photo.

And those pictures you usually see are taken with dedicated astrophotography cameras with cooled sensor.

Which usually don't have any Bayern RGB filters and if colours are needed it's done taking separate exposures through filters.

(though there are some colour models)

So you shouldn't take much of stress about getting those.

The only reason I suggest Nikon over Canon is that Nikon's sensors have been performing better than Canon sensors. That said, at the entry-level APS-C cameras, it really doesn't make a huge difference.
