Which will be the best GPU for my i7 3770.

I have a regular 1080p 60hz monitor

recommend GTX1070, price going down, ultra settings and max fps for every game, imo capable for 5 more years

GTX1060 will only achieve average 50fps on ultra, also you will need to lower settings soon

I've been waiting for prices to go down for a decent GPU. I have an i7 3770 with 8 GB DDR3 1600Mhz.
What would be the best GPU I could buy that did not bottleneck my system (I can not buy anything else, only GPU).
Thanks.

I don't agree with that. That is a very capable chip still (long as it isn't an S version)

That'll drive a 1080Ti no problem :)

Probably gaming or helping technophobes with tech...

True, if you're driving a 4k monitor, or high refresh rate 1440p, it might struggle a bit? Not sure sorry.

the best GPU to pair it with is entirely dependant on how much you are willing to spend

You'll be fine to go as high as your budget takes you bud presuming you have a decent power supply. You might want to upgrade that RAM a bit too tbh.

What games do  you play?

Also what's your preferred resolution when gaming? Better yet what monitor are you using?

Using a i7-3770/16GB DDR3/2GB 660 Ti setup myself but I mainly play and watch DOTA 2. From time to time XCOM, XCOM 2, and hopefully BattleTech. :D

Then the highest end you should get is a 1070.

GTX 1070, 1070ti or 1080 whichever you can afford would be nice and would last you a while...also you will want to make it to 16GB of RAM in the long run though. CPU is fine.

1060 3gb or rx 580 would be the best deals, the cpu bottlenecks anything higher.

Well it depends on the games really. It doesn’t even keep up with my old Kepler card(s) on 1080p.

Struggles on 1440 as well as wasn’t enough for gtx 1080, my 4790k barely does any better.

Look if any of you are struggling driving these frames with a 3880 and say a 1070, your PC build has an issue other than the CPU or GPU!

You, you have other issue(s) with your system(s) i told you already many times and proved to you with some gaming footage captured on my PC etc.

exactly, i have a 4770 and no issues maxing out GTX 1080 at high refresh rate CPU isnt even close from being an issue...3770 is plenty for modern gaming so long as you give it good graphics.

i built alot during the sandy bridge days, i would not pair a 2600k with anything higher than a 1070, especially on 1080p, even overclocked to 4.8ghz

he has a 3770 which is 3.7ghz (?), i can name so many games that cpu bottlenecks .

Many don't know this, but a 8600k bottlenecks a 1080ti by about 10% on some games/resolutions. CPU matters.

You said you monitor is a bog standard 1080p 60Hz panel but didn't mention the size

With all the Trolls, Try Hards, Noobs and Weirdos around here you'd think i'd find SOMEWHERE to fit in!

I think, in this PARTICULAR case, size does not matter. (once you know the ressolution) ^_^

That's definitely not true. Even a 2700k would pair okay with a 1080 Ti.

For the 3770 i would recommend 1050TI 4G (ASUS, GIGABYTE, MSI, PALiT, GAINWARD, EVGA. Ect). Or a 1060 3G/6G. 3770 Is a good CPU! It would bottleneck at something higher than even 1080TI. + You can set a budget if you have any recommendations.

Why are you lot recommending 1050ti's and 1060's...?

If you read the post you would say that is tosh!

It does NOT bottleneck even a 1080. We've been through this.

I built a lot in those days too man. I remember pairing a 3770 on 3 builds last year, all with 1080's and thinking wow, this old chip isn't even at 95% while torturing the systems for hours.

Again, you've not done it right if you are experiencing anything other than this. In fact, it could be a poor cooler perhaps! :)

Probably gaming or helping technophobes with tech...
