Budget phone for my mom.

Recommended Posts

Posted · Original PosterOP

Halp. I am looking for a good budget phone for my mom around 300$ budget.

She needs it mostly for simple tings.

The most demanding thing she uses is messenger calls with cam to her grand daughter.

So priority is face cam, battery life, large screen size and durability.

Her age is 69.

Right now im looking at motorola line after endorsement by the great Louis Rossman.

(Ps..   Im very drunk so that may explain typos or other shizniz... , but i am seriously looking forward to your response to read when im sober..)

My aunt bought a Moto G after I recommended it, and she's quite satisfied. I agree with Rossman, get a Motorola.

Also consider an older flagship, you can find them cheap, especially if you buy a used device and they will usually perform better that alot of budget phones.

What about Xiaomi Pocophone F1? This will be even better than yours for that money ;-)

Definitely go with something with bigger battery (not less than 4000mah), because video calls eat battery a lot. I would also suggest Xiaomi poco F1. If it's not available, then my next recommendation would be Xioami Redmi 5 Plus.

If she doesn't need NFC, Xiaomi A2 would be a very solid choice with a good Camera.

Maybe even a Xiaomi A2 Lite (a bit slower, 3gb Ram instead of 4, but i doubt that will make a difference), but a bigger 4000 mAh Battery.

Or Nokia 6.1 (2018).

All simple Android One models with fast long update support.

Moto G6 (Plus) is always a very solid choice, can't do much wrong with that.
